Am I alone in seeing that Hostility does not say you sacrifice the 3/1 at the end of the turn? Everyone seems to be focused on its tripling damage - it does more than that, tripling damage immediately and posing multiple threats that need to be addressed with immediate mass removal. Or is this just incomplete at the moment?

Well, unless the original poster was given the wrong information, this is correct. So yes, a single shock sets up 12 points of damage EVERY TURN until answered.

Hostility actually does give red something it can use: it is 6 damage post-wrath, and given a few burn spells it is MUCH worse. I see this card working well to bring down certain control archetypes, and it will certainly scare the crap out of creatureless decks whenever it resolves. I really wanna see the art now!
Hey, is there anyone else on the forums going to Rice University in Houston? We could ALWAYS use more people in our Magic games. PM me if you want to play sometime
msun: Knives scoop ice cream.
Highroller: No they don't, knives don't scoop. Spoons scoop.
msun: Well, knives SHOULD scoop icecream.
Highroller: We have spoons that do it. Moreover, the shape of a knife that would scoop ice cream would make it horrible for performing the functions of a knife.
msun: Highroller, you bring up spoons as though they were the utensil used for scooping ice cream.
IMHO Hostility is worst of incarnations at the moment. If it's in play - you must throw directs on your opponent only on your turn, before declaring attack. Well, you can do it at any other time, elementals will stay. But lots of 3/1 creatures IMHO have big chances to die before your next turn, or there will be some ambush from opponent.

Adversely, I think Hostility is the only decent greater elemental so far. With the mana-boosting abilities of the other elementals, and of red as a color, you can expect to churn out enough mana to play this guy pretty early. And next turn, cast Molten Disaster to sweep blockers away and win.
It does what the other greater elementals don't do: win nao.
I really like this incarnation. It's quite interesting to think of red preventing damage to potentially do more. This is definately elementals answer to the hords of goblins, elves and kithkin that are about to knock on our collective doors. Shock could become a creature generating staple for red, go figure. 2 3/1 elementals for R is nothing to scoff at, particularly when you can do it on the block.
Drop this into play via any means you want and have a surlpus of 2+ mana and you've got a ton of possibilities. this guy can come down on turn 3 or 4 with fair regularity in a variety of decks without doing otherwise useless things in your early turns. Consider:
T1: Land, Elf
T2: Land, Coalition Relic, tap it for Elemental Harbinger
T3: Land, Deathrender, Charge Relic
T4: Elvish Eulogist/Mogg fanatic, equip Deathrender to it, sacrfice. Put Hostility into play with Deathrender equipping it. You now have 3 mana available and an 8/8 Hasty elemental. Play a Shock and Incinerate for 5 x 3/1's. Bash face with your Horde.
You really want to win with him the turn you play him via a game winning alpha strike. Don't play him unless you also have mana to cast a burn spell, unless you desperately need a presence on the board.
I'm old school, about as OLD school as they get. think 4th Edition/Ice Age old school. Unfortunatley in the "Real world" you cant Incinerate your bank manager and sadly now I have joined the ranks of the older population, and my time is taken up by things like reasearching Mortgage Refinance Rates and where to get the best possible mortgage quotes. I have however discovered the joys of Online Forex Trading which at least allows me to keep the bills in check!
wait, we haven't confirmed yet if the mini ball lightnings stay in play forever, right?

how about have a massive storm turn, play pandemonium + hostility, then wreck face with 10 3/1s and 30 panda damage
This is a fun, johnny red card, and you can never have to many of those

not bad.
however, I think your deck is missing 4x browbeat = For three mana, either I draw three cards or you face five 3/1's... (I don't take credit for the browbeat, but I do know it was mentioned earlier... by someone...)

browbeat is a good idea..:D Pandemonium is over kill but great..once you have Pande down and cast Hostility its over..
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck *********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like to to occur and validate you.
why do people keep saying pandemonium?it says if a spell you control. pandemonium = triggered ability
It's not a one-card instant win combo, but it is a bit of a "combo".
I play shock. The two damage is prevented.
I get two 3/1 hasters.
Pandemonium triggers for both.
Take 6.
Take 6 more from their attacking.
It basically makes all of your burn spells deal SIX TIMES the damage. I hear that's pretty impressive, a single Flame Rift could knock every single other player out of the game.

Here's the thing about Hostility. Even if it DIDN'T have the weird token making ability, it is enormous, has a plausible mana cost for a competitive standard/block deck, and most importantly has HASTE. You just play this after "overextending" into a Wrath/Damnation, and the odds are about even you're gonna win.
yeah the haste thing is the real clincher here. that already puts hostility a cut above the rest of the incarnations, and puts him a cut above several creatures that have ever existed in the game. 6/6 haste for 6 that doesn't stay down (especially if you have him in multiples in your deck, means you draw him often after he dies) is nuts. as said earlier, the token generation is just gravy...actually useful gravy.

Spitfire is boring, but useful limited stuff, but Hostility is very, very nasty. Haste is golden on such a large creature which means it is much more likely to hit at least once. If it manages to stick around longer than the first turn, it will be very hard to loose since its wording implies that the tokens are not removed if it leaves play.

Meh, Spitfire is limited fodder, and not very impressive fodder at that. Pinging is good, but spending 4 a turn isn't.
Hostility isn't very impressive. Six mana is about double the manacost of the most expensive thing you would want to play in red sligh, which is where he belongs. And in limited, your burn is supposed to be for creatures (I.E. removal) unless you're going to kill your opponent with it. Still, he's a huge creature with haste in limited, so he'll probably just get played for his body. Overall, he's about as good as the other incarnations. Ok, but mostly a timmy card. On the casual side, I love this guy.
Hostility + lash out (assumming you win the clash) = FUN!!
You kill a blocker and you have 3 3/1's.. how cool is that?
How about molten disaster? with this baby.. you can have like 5 3/1's with a possibly clear field.. now that's nice!!
