He could be a nightmare played alongside Nova Hunter.. even if the Hunter bites it, he's still a 16/16. Plus, with Loxodon Warhammer in 10th - 19/16 trample. Not too shabby.
yeah he'd be awesome... IF you ever had the 7 mana to play him. i think he cost to much to even be played in limited. i think this is going to be one of the $1 rares.

Here we go...the DEFINITION of "Limited Bomb" and "Constructed Jank" all rolled into one.
Seriously...in Limited..this guy is quite literally a house (or village..in this case...sorry, sorry...)...big drop...followed by little drops...followed by something to give him trample...lol. In Constructed? A 6/6 for 7?! Oy...
you nailed it right there... just what i was going to say... for 7cc, there's a lot better cards in constructed out there...
I like him! The artwork is really freaking cool! I like how he has a synergy with evoke cards. The creature technically comes in to play, so you get the creatures special ability then you get to pump this bad boy up.
At seven mana, he's going to be difficult to work with in a tournament worthy deck, but he'll be terrific for multi player, casual and an absolute bomb in limited! ooO!
But realistically, to have a creature like this at 2 or 3 cc, even with a 0/1 toughness would be something which would put Tarmogoyf back on the ~$5 list. Then again, I'll never believe that Tarmogoyf is more than a solid $5 card.
Timmy, please enjoy this card. It was designed just for you.
Sadly, I don't think anyone but Timmy will be able to use it.
Wrong. Spike can use him just fine in Limited. If the opponent doesn't deal with it quickly (and it's much harder to deal with him in Limited than in Constructed), the opponent will lose.

No trample? He's certainly a limited bomb, but i am waiting for more constructed bombs. This definatly reminds me of onslaught block. Ancient Ooze anyone? I miss ravnica block already :-(
i'm senseing that the giants will have an effect that will hit people when creatures they control are damaged. and crush underfott would be sweet with it
It's possible he could be Limited fodder/bomb as having a fat body never hurts in those formats but otherwise I can't see too much use for him... Too bad we don't have a Fling/Grab the Reins effect.
hmm something says that there is an enchantment for 1W that would just love to see this guy in play. Why it would give him untargetability, and evasion all in one swing. Seems interesting...

we don't know that yet.apart from brion and crush underfoot, he might have a good trample effect card that he can pair up with
And I fail to see how Crush Underfoot is anything like Trample for this guy...Crush Underfoot just lets you knock off your opponents biggest guy with this dude instead of watching him chump it all day long. I was thinking more of our little Flamekin friend who grants trample three times and then blows up for 8 red mana maybe...:).
Fun for casual sneak attack decks:
Sneak Attack him first, then another, then Fling (or use the fling giant) ftw?
How about this: Tooth and Nail (or defense of the heart) 2 of them into play Now you have 2 12/12's! play Mass Hysteria! omgwinz!
And talk about Momentary Blink abuse! I'll play and then blink my Phyrexian Dreadnaught, he'll get gi-normous!
I hope the Ferret didn't say all of these things already - because the WOTC server always lags really badly around Midnight and I can't even read the articles until after 1am.
lol this guy is so bad I can't resist doing really fun, mean things with him to poor casual players.

Hey...all I really have left to say about this guy is that at least they previewed him in an article by the multiplayer guy entitled "What Timmy Wants", so the rest of us didn't really get our hopes up.

but won't blinking the dreadnought kill it unless you have 12 to sac?
I think Lorwyn is bringing out my inner Timmy. I really want to play with this giant, and I'm pretty sure giants are going to be a lot more playable than people think.
Let's face it. Giants are not historically one of the more successful tribes. But with their enchantment, Favor the Mighty, a decent if unspectacular lord, an awesome legend, and this absolute beast, I feel like they might be fringe playable.
But other than that, I doubt it will ever be used outside of limited.

I like the combination of Parente's art with another artist's. You can definitely tell Parente's style apart from the rest of it. Looks good.
Obviously the card is crap. Casual giant theme decks will play a copy. 75 cent rare.

In casual play, slap an aura on him that gives him shroud...and then just sit there and see how big he gets.

on the 7th turn, he won't be too late. when your opponent plays something the next turn, brion can still fling him and you still gain the life
The card sucks though, at least in constructed.
After a few turns he could be extremely huge.
Yes there are better rares to open for Limited in this set but this is still a nice one.
Not to mention his power in 2HG limited there he is insanely hard to remove unless there holding onto a terror type effect.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!

hopefully you have the cost right and i trust this is a price from your store?
anyway, if that's true, my nightscape familiars and thornscape familiars just became so much sweeter
i'm hoping he's the most expensive giant
and if you get the two in play at the same time, that should be game unless your opponent has untargeted removal
