I like it! "Untap all lands you control" is a pretty sweet ability to put onto equipment. The discard part is kind of a throwaway, but it will help eke out an advantage.
It's certainly better than Body and Mind, but not as good as the original two. We're definitely not going to see Sword of Fire and Ice Umezawa's Jitte levels of power on an equipment ever again, that card was a mistake.
The "untap all lands" ability is decent with Omnomnomnath, but people didn't even bother to use it with Bear Umbra, so eh. I'm sure EDH will love it.
Also, while we're on the subject of powerful Equipment, I feel like Umezawa's Jitte is worth mentioning.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I personally love it. I play casual, and my G deck, or any deck that needs the mana, would love this card. Discarding? Sure. But the gold is the untapping lands.
I also like the "Protection from big creatures" and "protection from black removal". Or, "protection from half of Phyrexia".

I want this for my Xiahou Dun, the One-eyed commander deck. Making him a 5/4 unblockable spectre and untapping Cabal Coffers and City of Shadows? That seems pretty abusive.
Tap out to cast and equip, swing, untap all for second main or combat tricks shenanigans? Or even to just shift it to a better defensive body. Not even getting into removal resistance...I mean +2/+2 puts most creatures out of Bolt range...is it earth-shattering? No. Is it good? In my opinion, yeah.
You guys completely missed my point. He specifically said that it cannot be phyrexian because it won't have living weapon. I was simply pointing out the flaw in that statement.
Why are we trusting this source at all? Did I miss the part where it has any more credibility than the average fake? Just because it's not obviously fake doesn't make it real.
If this is real, nice. Very nice. Not the best thing ever, but I like it a lot. I like discard, so this automatically appeals to me. The part where your lands are untapped is also amazing. Also, protection from most of Phyrexia's best stuff is icing on the cake.

Untap all lands you control is pretty boss. The discard isn't bad either.
I do wish it did the original feast and famine (destroy a creature; get a 2/2).
I would have preferred "Sword of Life and Death" or something over this name...I've never heard of "famine" as being represented by "discard a card" before.
Yeah nothing. +2/+2 and double protection. Nothing.
Kids these days.
Honestly with how equipment has been for the last few sets I think everyone has the right to be a little upset at this card.
For one more mana we get First Strike, Haste, Vigilance, and Trample in addition to +2/+0. For a five mana investment, I want my effects to always be relevant. Jitte was always Relevant, heck even Behemoth Sledge, and Basilisk Collar are always relevant. Feast and Famine, isn't. Which is terribly upestting.
SoBAM while not as good as SoFI or SoLaS, still always at least gave you a 2/2 wolf, even if the mill wasn't a viable option of killing your opponent. This card has very little effect on your board position. Decks that would consider playing this card are probably not going to have enough cards to do much with with the extra land, and discarding isn't so hot unless your choosing which card gets discarded or its at random.
While great for limited and block constructed, I highly doubt this card will find a home in standard unless BUG takes off.
So, one can add mana from the begin-of-combat phase and the end-of-combat phase to cast a gigantic instant? Not too shabby to pull off every turn. I'd take 5 cards off 4 lands with the blue Zenith. Not too many applications, but there is a window of opportunity.
Couldn't the discard at least have been at random? I mean, them choosing their card doesn't really help you too much. . .
Untapping all lands though with protection from good things, means that it's a great card. Progreen means blocks Big stuff without dieing, Problack means not dieing from Doomblade. Untapping afterwards gives a large advantage in my opinion, no matter what type of deck you're running. In control, it allows you to tap out, hit your opponent with something at least 2 damage, and have mana on their turn to respond. Definitely more of a control sword than an aggro sword like Fire and Ice, or Body and Mind. So that means R/W is left as well. I'm glad.
All in all, protection alone will mean this is at least sideboard material. But, I'd still run Body and Mind over it. Mill 10 is great against any opponent especially since it creates a new body to attach to.
So far, equip all swords get
Pro all colors, +8/+8
When creature deals damage to an opponent, Gain 3 life, Draw a card, Defending player puts the top 10 cards of his/her library into the graveyard, Return a creature from the graveyard to your hand, Defending player discards a card, Deal 2 damage to target creature or player, Put a 2/2 wolf into play, and Untap all your lands.
It's worth the mana in my opinion. . .

Okay yes Grafted Exoskeleton defies that logic when put so fundamentally, but i meant that i don't expect there to be a single equipment to be Phyrexian without it, now that Living Weapon is a mechanic and been developed (storyline-wise). Don't you think that Phyrexia would've grafted the Skeleton to a germ if they'd developed the technology by then? It shows progression in thier ideals of what equipment should be, as such Grafted Exoskeleton is a failure by Phyrexian design as they improved on it.
Yeah, I understand that. I was just being an ass about your wording, lol.
This seems a little better than people are giving it credit for... the prot green/black card definitely wasn't going to be better than SoFI or SoLS, because prot green/black just isn't better.
But honestly... I think the abilities on this card are better than Light/Shadow. Card Advantage is awesome. I can't figure out what to do with the untapped lands yet, but I'd rather have that than 3 life.
Obviously this sword doesn't touch SoFI, but I really hope none of them are straight up better than SoFI. I don't want a broken sword.
Pretty sure the abilities on SoLS are better (of course the protections too). This'll be good in certain situations, but "untap all lands you control" is going to be good sometimes and useless others, and the discard is coming pretty late. On the other hand the lifegain on SoLS is pretty sweet against aggro decks and the raise dead is a more conditional but better form of CA.

no, manapools empty at the end of each step
you'd have to wait until after combat damage is done, then float all your mana in response to the sword's triggered ability, which basically achieves the same effect
Eh... this is a bit disappointing. It will be very good against infect decks, but other than that I don't see it as better than Sword of Body and Mind.
waiting for confirmation of the source but seems bad out of standard.
Are you sure? Pro-most of Doran and Pro-most of Jund seems slightly better than bad. Maybe not earth-shattering, meta-redefining, but hardly irrelevant.
Well, the one thing it does is protect against the two colours with the highest concentration of infect. Unfortunately it doesn't protect against other artifacts but that's another matter.
Untapping lands? That's huge. Just like Bear Umbra Imagine that with Koth's super. Tap my lands for huge pingage, swing, untap lands, do it again.
That's HUGE.

This. I honestly don't see why everyone thinks untapping your lands isn't a great ability. If you've got an evasive creature the turn you equip this you're hitting for 3 minimum and it was equipped and cast for free O,o
Staying untapped while playing control is huge too. Honestly, I like this better than SoBM, and it's pretty close to SoLS.

Lol, especially because this sword makes it essentially free to equip.
Infect has TWELVE 2-drop artifact 1/1 infects that are all playable and now a 1/1 artifact flying man-land. This will not pwn infect but will be somewhat helpful.
It's ok. Feel about the same w/ Mind and Body. In a world of Jace, liking Mind and Body more. Untapping lands and forcing discard isn't near as cool after you've invested 5 mana on this AND mana on a creature to put it on.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
