I love it when things devolve into arguments of opinion. It's always pretty funny to me how passionate someone can get over an opinion that they have, and forgive me if I'm wrong (I'm not targeting anyone in particular) but pretty uninformed opinions at that.
To me Wal-Mart is a company that got it right. They may have some sketchy business practices, but in the end, they offer brands that I like at prices that I like... and if I find the item somewhere else for less... then I buy it there.
In the end this discussion needs to get back onto the Commander pre-cons... so I'll say this; multiplayer product and pre-cons do not drive the profit margins of the local game store. Any decent game store will see most of it's Magic profit coming from FNM, drafts, and singles. Given that they are already not going to move enough product to make that much profit, why not keep that product at MSRP and move more units of it? I have no problem with a store working the secondary market, and I would have no problem if my LGS wanted to break open the duel decks to sell the singles. But readily available, sealed product should always be sold for MSRP. Yes, there are a few people out there who will buy the product at the LGS just to support them, but the vast majority will save a buck when they can.
I'm new to Commander, so I'm just excited for this product to fill out my non-standard collection, and will give me more choices in-hand for my own Commander decks. Right now I have to scour decklists here and pick cards that I want to try and get, then weigh how much the card sells for against how worthwhile it will be in my deck.
I'm trying to figure out an easily accessible legend that won't cost me a ton that can do a crapload of damage. lol. I'm thinking of trying a deck built around making a high damage legend unblockable / untargetable then hitting a few hard ones with pump for a win.
Uril, the Miststalker is pretty crazy. 5 mana to cast originally, stock him up with auras and go to town! Oh, and per one of your previous posts, I'm not sure if you realize that the commander format is singleton? Each non-basic land card can only be a one-of in your deck. If I mis-read that earlier, I apologize... just wanted to be sure.

Honestly, Vaevictis Asmadi isn't exactly horrible here. You'll probably pick him up for $1 if you get a white-border (Chronicles) one. His colors give you some nice options.
And he's a bona fide 'Elder Dragon Legend'..style points.
Yeah 3 color decks are a pain to build cheaply...unless one of those colors is green. Then you just ramp and fix for a few turns and start whomping.
But what about all the people who say that these decks don't need functional reprints of ABUR duals or the inclusion of shocklands because mana fixing is never a problem with the uncommon lands at our disposal...
I only say that because in the speculation thread about this same thing, people make it sound like you can be just find with wedge lands, refuges, and other budget options...
I think these people have never played a color intensive deck...
try playing 5 color decks... that's way worse... lol

Uril is sick. Like an improved aura gnarlid. Problem is it's 3 colors, I never had luck playing more than 2, most likely because I can't afford all of the land fixes. They seem to always make them rares.
any multicolor edh deck including green is relatively cheap and easy to color fix. granted, 5 color can be a pain, especially if you don't want to have to base it heavily in green (for instance, my Scion of the Ur-Dragon, which is base-RB with a nice chunk of white for sweepers/odds and ends), but 2 or 3 colors including green is cake even without running lots of expensive lands.

Just don't forget about that upkeep.
Oh man, I really wouldn't mind playing that guy. I wish they'd pull a Nicol Bolas and reprint him, because I'm pretty sure he's the second best of the cycle.

I think it shouldn't be hard to find a foil copy from FTV:D online or at a large event.

In my experiences playing against Vaevictus, the power pumping has meant a lot more than trample would. Between sweepers, stuff like Loxodon Warhammer and Sword of What and Ever and other equipments, and just some decks not having fliers, it's a lot easier to get Vaevictus to connect than it is to get a high power to make Palladia's trample worthwhile. Also, Vaevictus is black, and therefore allows stuff like Bladewing, as well as various black tutors. By contrast, Palladia gives you white, which pretty much just means various pieces of removal.
My friend told me that the decks will be all foil, has anyone heard anything about this? I haven't heard anything like this before so I don't know if it's true.

Sorry guys, I haven't read through the whole thread but can someone confirm something with me please? Are there now going to be 15 new Legendary Generals = 5 Wedges and 10 Enemy-dual-coloured Generals? I heard something about this when Nin was spoiled, but this seems to contradict Forsythe's article about 10 new Wedges and the 5 old Planar Chaos Wedge dragons. Has something changed? Thanks!
There will be 10 new wedge generals and the 5 Planar Chaos Dragons, and an additional 5 enemy color pair Legendary creatures. Nin is the UR representative.
I have to say the girl looks cool, though I am not entirely sure what she is... A Vampire? A Demon? A fallen Angel?
Guess I'm gonna find out soon anyway...
You know what would be rad? IF SHE WAS ALL THREE! A VAMPIRE DEMON ANGEL!
OR Maybe a demon dragon angel becuase she looks red. Either way, this is way exciting-er news then dumb old new phyrexia.
Edit: Notice how she has two sets of wings: one red bat-like wings (typical of magic dragons) and one white bird-like wings (typical of magic angels). She looks like she is a cross between a dragon and an angel.
I am petitioning for the removal of mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause!

Tolaria West to tutor up Cradle is pretty good. Cycling Lands are pretty sweet too, especially with a LFTL.

Palladia-Mors is stronger, due to the trample...
Very excited to see the BRW cards. As a wedge, it already has access to a lot of great aggressive cards.
