Just as an FYI, official previews start June 6th according to Daily MTG's Twitter. So only a week, but I'm sure each deck will be featured heavily on their own day.
And it's being sold retail on 17?
How do I preorder without knowing much about the decks, argh.

This should help people out who are addressing me in further posts: My name is Tenkai. It's not Tokobo. Thank you. =)
I have to sort of wonder if the decks totally suck and wizard wants to force people to preorder before the reveal them. Luckily for me my local game store plans to stock a bunch of them so I dont have to lol. I will just see if any of them are worth my money and pass on them if they suck.
I am honestly surprised that they are starting the spoilers so close to the release on this one.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Actually for any "non block" product, this is pretty standard process. They didn't give us decklists for Archenemy or Planechase much eariler... and Dual Decks usually aren't known unless a gunslinger brings them to a big event. Look at NPH Event Decks... we haven't seen anything on them either, and likely won't until the week it comes out.

Maybe these will be super-awesome and be worth way more than the MSRP thus end up being like the FTV series on the secondary market. It really could go either way, especially if wizards put alot of classic one-ofs in and didn't care about their "value" such as Sol Ring, Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Maze of Ith, or maybe even Force of Will (and yes, I checked already, none of these are on the retarded reserve list).
I'm slow and just noticed the combo of Death by Dragons followed by Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund. That's a pretty neat way to turn a "political play" into some serious (selfish) board advantage. Looking forward to figuring out combos with the other new multiplayer cards.
I supose it takes a lot of effort to slow roll spoilers over a longer stretch of time. If it is a smaller offshoot product like this its not like they are going to sell numbers anywhere near what new sets do. It could come somewhat down to just not wanting to spend tons of time and effort building suspense and what not.

Well my thought is that they have 5 decks. Each day will focus on one of those decks and will give us tips, play guides, and spoilers. Seems like the logical way to do it. It's different than other products though since we have new cards to deal with. So who knows, maybe some EDH themed articles like "This card is in this precon, but look what happens when you put it in my awesome Zur deck..."
How do I preorder without knowing much about the decks, argh.
You know people have enough faith in WotC's products when all of the preorders at Star City Games sold out at $134.99 for the set. I got mine for $125 shipped at another site though. Even though very little has been spoiled I bought all five because I know they are going to be awesome. If you've looked at the decks they've done in the past, they've been pretty good. There was always an Archenemy or Planechase deck that was worth well above MSRP.
Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer, seems like a great card for political puppets, and agent of masks could fit in one of the BW decks. Would we be upset if breath of malfegor was in Heavenly inferno? I think these sets will have plenty of "each opponent" cards that we used to think were garbage because of how much 1 V 1 we play otherwise. I'm not saying these decks should not work in 1 V 1 though.

eww, I hope gwafa isn't in political puppets. He's not even political, he's closer to anti-political. He's just terrible in every way.
There's a solid chance that the rares in the boxes will be worth more than $30, but on the other hand $30 is a lot easier to get things with than a bunch of cards that may or may not be useful to the right people. I, for one, think it's worth waiting for the decklists - some boxes will be worth more than others, and it shouldn't be hard to find the boxes since they'll be sold at walmart, unless wizards goes bananas and includes something super valuable, which is unlikely.
I do wish they'd spoil stuff earlier - sure, they usually wait on duel decks and garbage like that, but those don't have new cards in them. If these decks didn't have new cards, I'd be fine waiting, but c'moooon....I just got a scrubland to complement my plateau and badlands...that RWB angel thing better be AWESOME.
He also draws hate, but he's a lot better of a card. I can't even describe how terrible gwafa is. He's terrible at playing defense because you have to put counters on things before you think they'll attack you, then he encourages everyone to kill him as quickly as possible so their creatures can attack again, and then he makes them want to attack you while they still can.
Gwafa's problem is that he's so easy to kill and his primary mechanic is only active when he's on the battlefield. It's more of a group hug deck than anything really. Just find some way to punish people for holding a lot of cards.
Well...and also that you can't use his ability to stop attackers. You have to predict who people will attack, and then use him on what you think will attack you. This, of course, pisses people off, and then they WILL attack you with their other creatures.
If he could use his ability to negate attacks, and his death didn't reverse his effect, then he'd be fine. And not giving opponents CA would also be nice. Of course, then he'd be merieke ri berit. But hey, it's still quite an improvement
I just wanted to ask if any of you have heard anything about your LGS's plans for the release event. Everyone I know is excited for this, but the shops aren't really making a big deal out of this. So..
1. Are the shops I have talked to under-hyping these?
2. Or am I over-hyping - not realizing that no one else cares?
I think EDH is a shop by shop basis on hype. We have several LGS in the Twin Cities and only 2 of them have an EDH day. One is well attended, the other is a group of people who just are always there anyway so they might as well make it an EDH day.
Our local shop is talking it up, he ordered a ton of the precons in hopes of starting a EDH night to go along with our FNM Drafts and Saturday Standard Constructed Tournaments.
I'd say Commander is big at our shop, and it's getting bigger and bigger. A lot of people have at least 1 deck and many, including myself, have 5 or more. Needless to say, the Commander pre-cons really are highly anticipated. I'll talk to the shop owner tonight about Launch Day specifics.
Its pretty big at our shop, there's probably going to be around 20 people attending, which is a bit more than our regular EDH league gets (10-12). Although I don't know how reliable facebook event doodlebobbers will be in predicting attendance, so I could be way off base. I know I'm going and getting another deck, even though I've already got two from the set of 10 a bunch of my friends and I ordered.
While I think there will be very few that like this idea as much as I, but I wonder what the chances of the Ravnica enemy split cards being in the set? Sure it's one rare slot per deck, but all of them were pretty decent and would make interesting additions to the decks.

At least one of them isn't really playable in EDH, if I remember correctly. Odds//Ends will be in whatever u/w/r deck I end up putting together anyway, so why not!
