This Block will probably end well, considering that the last 3 blocks were setting up the 3 major villains in the Multiverse as Nicol Bolas, The Eldrazi and The Phyrexians (If they get the Planar Portal again).

[center]The best combo in Modern is now unbanned, yay!!!
Well frankly, I loved The Dark. It propably was disappointing from a power-level perspective, but imho was a great set flavor-wise with many great and different artworks. In contrast to that, Fallen Empires sucked at power level and flavor. Good idea, terrible execution.
I'd be totally fine if they made a successor "in style" of The Dark...
Actually, Fallen Empires' flavour was very well done. It also produced a lot of cards that made a huge impact on the game after its release. Yes, it had its fair share of chaff but what set doesn't?
I'd prefer there to be more of an epic storyline than these "OH NOEZ BIG MONSTERZ ARE GUNNA RUIN US ALL! WE'S ALL GONNA DIE! BLARG!" continuum that has been happening lately. We were spoiled with the Brothers' War/Weatherlight storyline, and it will take Wizards a lot to top that one. If you ask me, they've done a bad job at character development in the new planeswalkers. They could do a much better job at that. (I don't read the webcomics nor the novels).
Hopefully Innistrad will gve us a refreshingly new take on this stage of the storyline.

I like how in NPH they sorta made green the big "bad guy" and red the "good guys." Green was first to attack and red was the only color that felt compassion for the Mirrodins. I hope they continue that in Innistrad. Yes, we know black is evil. WE GET IT. Now show us some creativity on how other colors can be evil also. I loved Kamigawa and how White was the villain and Black was the protagonist. It was an interesting spin on flavor I would like to see more.
I think they were more impartial than compassionate, but i get what youre saying.

Wait, so you're basing your knowledge of character development on what then? Wizards has stated multiple times they will never do a carded storyline, because you don't see the cards in the correct order. All (or lack of) character development takes place in the books and comics.
Also, it's possible Wizards is doing a giant villain arc with all these bad guys running around.

I'm guessing there is going to be alot of zombies in this set why else would they reprint call to the grave. I'm also praying we will see korlash rise and inherit the blackblade to rage on all you vampire lovers.
Quick question. Why is the tittle header for Innistrad changed? It used to be INN, and it became ISD at one point. How come?
It was revealed that the official three-letter-code for Innistrad used by Wizards is ISD, so we changed our tags to be consistent with that. To help prevent this sort of confusion in the future Wizards will be releasing the official code and Twitter hashtag at the time a set's name is announced.

Considering the Blackblade is a Dominarian relic, unless a planeswalker took it to Innistrad, it's very unlikely...

Tonight in "Savor the Flavor" Doug Beyer, I think, confirmed a new PW card for Liliana. I know we had already assumed as much but I thought I'd point it out...
Liliana is definitely one of our main planeswalker characters, and we definitely have big plans for her in the future. We know that Liliana is the only one of the original five Lorwyn planeswalkers not to get a newer version, and that after all this time with the same version, a new design feels overdue for her. We also knew that when we put Sorin in M12, it would feel even more neglectful of Lili (Miss Vess if you're nasty). But if you're a Liliana fan, get ready. She will definitely find her way to the spotlight in the near future.
I mean...
and then there was the pic of Liliana.

Quote from Doug Beyer"s Savor the Flavor, last week »
What's this? An "amphin"? With creature type Salamander Rogue? *blinks* What in the whatwhat?
Every so often we try out a new creature race. The amphin are a race of lanky, shrewd, partially aquatic humanoids who can dwell either in the briny depths or in the overgrown shallows. Little is known about their civilization as yet; time will tell whether we see more of them in the future.
It's always risky to debut a new race, as they have to compete with dozens of other creature types for slots in Magic sets and in players' hearts. Plus, a vanilla 2/4 is not exactly a splashy debut, so the amphin might not be putting their most dramatic foot forward here. (Compare to the dramatic debuts of, say, Ravenous Baloth, Crater Hellion, or Masticore—those species really started with a bang.) But I have a long-term attitude about it—we'll see how these salamander-folk fare as Magic rolls on.

Makes me wonder if there's going to be a guy named Mr. Shepherd (or so) in the block
If you look at the last two "From the Vault" sets, From the Vault: Dragons included 15 Dragons from throughout MTG's history, including Hellkite Overlord, a preview to Shards of Alara. Dragons were a theme of the Jund Shard.
From the Vault: Relics included 15 Artifacts, including Sword of Body and Mind, a preview to Scars of Mirrodin. Artifacts were a theme in that block.
The next Vault set is From the Vault: Legends, which will have 15 Legendary Creatures, including a preview card for Innistrad.
Just in case you haven't figured out what I'm getting at yet, I think there's a good chance that legendary creatures will be at least a minor theme in Innistrad. I will admit it's a bit of a stretch, especially since there are two sets to my limited knowledge with Legendaries as a theme (Legends and the Kamigawa block), but I think it does make sense, especially with this talk of the block designed with flavor in mind.

Someday, I will own all of the dragons. All of them. 43/111, approximately 39% complete. Over a third done.

I don't think it will be any more a theme than in any normal block. theres big creatures, equiptments, and legends in every block. The preview card will be something that makes people go "WOW" and build excitement for the block, not particularly a hint to the block.
Well, we really have no argument for or against this being a Legendary block, really.
You could speculate so due to the fact it is a return to Homelands (with high Legendary content); because of proximity to FTV:L; because of the recent efforts to popularize EDH; because it has been 6 blocks from the last Legends block (Kamigawa.)
But that would simply be speculation, which is tantamount to nothing.
