GBW. Turn 2 Blood Artist, turn 3 Sorin (Make 1/1 Vampire), Turn 4 Bloodline Keeper, Turn 5 make a 2/2 Vamp token, Rootborn Defenses on the 2/2 token, flip Bloodline Keeper, swing for lethal with +2/+2 Vampires that are indestructible....
Or is that just my dream of finally building a standard Vampire deck without Zombies?
Mad props to WotC for a) acknowledging it, b) sending it back, and c) giving Bruce_E a bit on the side for being an honest citizen.
That Selesnya banner's got to have a bit of a secondary market!
I think Wizards did it on purpose. I would understand if Concordia Pegasus was in a M2013 booster, but Rootborn Defenses? A card that specifically introduces a new mechanic? Sounds fishy to me.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
If this was done in a purposeful way (ie viral marketing) you would expect to have seen more of it. One card in one pack is not a very good strategy unless you also believe that Bruce_E is in on the whole thing. No, I think this is exactly what it appears to be, a mistake that kind of ended up working out not too badly for them.

Well that would have to wait until turn 6 unlewss you somehow gave all your vampires haste. Which then is a problem because the creatures arent indestructible at that point. On turn 5 assuming the opponent did nothing you have...
1x blood artist 2/3
3x lifelink vampire tokens 3/3
1x lord of lineage 5/5
3x vampire flying tokens 4/4
1 lifelink token cant attack, 2 flying tokens cant attack, and lord of lineage is tapped, so you have 12 damage possibly to swing with.
Turn 6 you can play rootborn flip the lord and attack for 13 in air 14 on the ground though, which seems possible.
I just dont think you are going to get that nut draw as often as you would like, and the opponent does tend to actually play as opposed to letting you set up an insurmountable board position.
I don't think it was done on purpose. Imagine if they seeded exactly one, unique copy of the card a few months early. What if it goes unnoticed? Commons can get thrown out. What if the box isn't opened? What if the person who finds it doesn't realize what they have and they don't post it. But if you're Wizards and you plan to seed 5-10 cards, and 4 are found, then it just looks fake.
That one special box of Japanese Urza's Destiny which which contained a few textless foil test prints, supposedly, happened the same way. Just whatever they printed last.
Honestly, I won't expect any different explanations from them. Remember they never acknowledged the Zendikar Treasures shenanigan.
I can see this just being another form of viral marketing. They're trying new ways to do spoilers, and are testing the waters.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Actually, at times there are problems with Mark Rosewater's Tumblr and he answers to a question but the answer appears under another question. This was one such case.
...Seriously? You're about 2 months late to the party, wizards confirmed it as genuine, and it's been spoiled, pulled from packs and is in one of the precons.
Wow thats really cool. I hadn't heard that they explained how it may have happened yet. As for the banner its staying on my wall with no intention of being sold, ever (sorry guys) lol

I wonder if this means that cards like slumbering dragon might become playable.
It wouldn't surprise me if they did a special M13 print run with a few RtR cards for Magic Celebration and some packs were mistakenly sent out early.
