Red should be burn, Goblins, Dragons, draw/discard, and Standard-unplayable 5CMC cards with insane, lengthy effects that take 10 minutes to figure out what they do and another 20 to actually make their effects work on the field.
Would it be too far of a stretch to hope for pre-planeswalker planeswalkers? The size ratio of that artwork doesn't look like a planeswalker's artwork.

I collect Legendary cards, Planeswalkers, and Sagas.
Current count of different Legends: 1314
Current count of different Planeswalkers: 213
Current count of different Sagas: 44
thats not card art. thats pc game box art from 1993.
I kept looking at it thinking "is that an illustration or a 3D model".

It might be the Fat Pack art though. I remember the cool Dark Ascension announcement picture of Sorin ended up on the Fat Pack and not the card.

That's because the new Chandra will be a mini-Chandra. Like Little Girl.

Yes ... yes it is.
That is PW art. It would have to be cropped in half or horribly squished to make it onto a creature card.
There is also all the work that went into the "planeswalker uniqueness rule" which keeps only one of each walker out at the same time. If we then got Legendary versions it would invalidate all the work that went into that rule and the whole purpose of the Planeswalker sub-type.

I can't remember the last time that promo art was used on a card. Maro, in response to someone asking why they didn't just use the Gideon/Aurelia art for his card, said that they always order multiple versions: one to be promo art and one to be card art.

Nice boots on Chandra. Even though she's bursting out of some sort of metal grating I wouldn't say she's in Ravnica. Jace doesn't seem to like or trust her at all and it seems like everyone knows Jace lives in Ravnica. Also, Gideon is there and I understand that he has a history with Chandra as well.
Love that Chandra's getting the focus, but that art is bad CGI. Seriously, that looks like it's a video game from a third rate studio.
Plus, I know that Chandra's hair has always been on fire, but this is the first time she's looked like a bald woman with a fire mane attached to her skull.
Lastly, the pose is complete cheese. "I just burned this gate. Oh yeah! TIME TO POSE!"
Yeah, no. Fortunately, if the past is any indication, this will NOT be the card art.
I think she might get another version in the fall block as well. Garruk had two new ones last year; Jace got two in one year as well; and liliana this past year so Chandra is due for her turn. She's still my fav walker character and Nalaar isn't that bad actually.
This is MTG's actual 20th anniversary Core Set. I'm sure WOTC knows this. Why does it look like they aren't doing anything in particular for it?
Granted, we know very little at this stage, other than (if memory serves) Forsythe or someone saying that M13 was going to be the last hurrah of that cycle of dual lands. Meaning we'll either see something entirely different and new, or a cycle that isn't the shocklands but plays nice with them (Scars of Mirrodin ones, perhaps?) or nothing at all but City of Brass... who knows.
Strange that a new Core Set is on the horizon, following a set with inf mana fixing, and all I can think of is "what will the mana fixing be like?" Especially considering they don't technically have to print ANY since it will rotate out WITH RTR block
What I do hope we get are heretofore-unreprinted reprints, maybe even do a better job of it than 8th Edition did for the 10th Anniversary.
The proportions on the art are ****ing terrible. More typical women-as-objects bull**** to cater to neckbeards who never get laid.
The more I look at it, the more awful it gets. Her torpedo breasts literally hold up her right shoulder pad (how is this possible?) and she has no left hip and no right knee. Plus, her stomach is REALLY long.

This art is effing terrible.
Good thing this is going on the fatpack and not the card then huh?
I'm not really sure why we're getting an announcement for it is all...kinda seems like a waste. We know M14 is coming, so it's not really exciting. The only thing this does is give us "awkward sexy chandra". On the other hand...

this is def one of the best pieces of artwork for Chandra since she isn't completely on fire.

When it escaped, the experimenters hesitated. It would cause untold havoc, yet they wished to see it in action.
