Read the first post. We have evidence that Trollcreature has actual non-public information.

Speculation is for uninformed guesses. Trollcreature appears to be informed. Hence why this is not speculation, but a rumor thread that collects/collates Trollcreature's claims so the individual posts don't have to be hunted down.

Does anyone else see the hilarious flavor relation with this spoiling here? The future-knowing prophecy sphinx being revealed days before any public knowledge of him is just a fantastic coincidence. If these spoilings by Trollcreature turn out to be true, can we call them the Medomai Prophecies?

It's a shame it won't actually include Horizon Canopy-
that card has almost doubled in value recently

A guy in my play group called the name devotion mechanic about 4 days ago. And said it would involve casting costs of permanents you control.

Another guy in my play group has had great speculation and justification for reprinting nimbus maze and it's entire cycle.

These guys must be the prophet sphinx medomai reincarnated.


If this troll guy with 4 posts decided he knew what was up and couldn't hold it in, and posted a few amazing hints in a couple of posts on these boards to fuel some fire of speculation then give that man a medal.

In the mean time, this entire thread is baseless Speculation. Can we modereti this to the proper baseless forum and stop pointless rumors like this?

So if you already have white stuff in play, you get to use this to get white mana! Definitely sounds like something I'd rather play over a basic land. </sarcasm>

The dual lands will not be devotion based if WotC has any idea what they're doing.

The guy already proved with Medomai that he had at least some advance information. Therefore this information is not "baseless speculation".

This seems quite believable. Would look like this assuming the cycle works always the same:

Ordeal of Heliod
Enchant creature
Whenever enchanted creature attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it. Then if it has three or more +1/+1 counters on it, sacrifice Ordeal of Heliod.
When you sacrifice Ordeal of Heliod, (you may?) exile target creature. If you do, its controller gains life equal to its power.


This would make the Ordeals be of the form "put counters on the creature, when it has enough counters, sacrifice for a staple effect of that color" (red has Lightning Bolt, white Swords to Plowshares...maybe green makes a token? blue draws cards? black destroys?)

If Nylea is the GG 5/5 'snake', it's probably referring to her ability. Deathtouch seems pretty likely, as she's a hunter who always wins. Being indestructible with deathouch is pretty amazing.

Also, if her devotion is 5< as well, then she'll count for 2. Leatherback Baloth anyone?

Umm wasn't it said the new duals will not play nice with the shocks? Meaning the Nimbus cycle is out?

I was really hoping they would add a bunch of cheap "Exile" enchantment cards, just because the Gods will be so easy to trump when they're obviously not supposed to be trumped that easily. Kind of cheap :/

Am I the only person here who actually reads what TK-421 says? For people doubting the veracity of these rumors, they've already been confirmed.

A straight-up Swords to Plowshares for enchantment makes sense though, since in this block Erase would be as good as Shatter was in Mirrodin. If non-creature enchantments and enchantment creatures are more relevant than non-enchantment creatures, then it's pretty close to being the real Swords in block play.

Wow. I imagine how in the coming year we will have to distinguish between:

- enchantment creature/non-enchantment creature
- creature enchantment/non-creature enchantment

Seems like a big headache.

Oh god I hope not. I don't see this being likely... Or rather I sure hope it isn't. I'd just run islands and plains over this

I don't think the Sphinx will use devotion. I think it will use the monstrousity ability, and say "X is not already monsterous then take an extra turn after this one".


It makes me wonder; there was a lot of complaining when the primordials came out about powerful ETB creatures, Devotion and Monstrosity seem to be wizard's answer.

You can't loop Time Walks if you have to sac something, you can if you don't have to.

It should also be noted, the cost for using the Sphinx will NOT be that it doesn't untap. Ral Zarek is still in Standard and that would be an instant infinite, so we know that is out.

My guess is that it has something to do with devotion, then sacrifice permanents equaling 3UU. I think that would balance decently.

One thing we know for sure, WotC is incredibly careful about extra turn effects, I believe they will be here as well. They will underpower than overpower them, always.

Not that I'm reading too much into the Thoughtseize speculation, but Maro did mention in the State of Design that there would be a reprint of card that could have been in Modern Masters.
