I'm not sure. Scry is nice, but tapped is not. The manlands were really good though, but creatures are more powerful than scry one. I suppose these could show up in control/grindy midrange. We'll see.

It's a good thing they enter the battlefield tapped. Otherwise people would have just made 3 color decks and put all the best cards from each color in them. That wouldn't have been very fun. It's a good thing this never happens.
Would have adored these at uncommon. At rare, no thanks. And before anyone asks- the difference between those two choices is that my rare slots in packs can now be taken up by cards that are barely better than guildgates. Yeah, I love scry, but scry 1 is not worth my land coming in tapped.
I like them, because scrying can be powerful...but at rare?... I'll probably end up buying them, or pulling them from draft. Who knows, maybe we'll get a card for each color that does something when you scry.
Kamigawa 2.0 confirmed. These things are just little more powerful than guild gates. At least RTR has more interactions with it's gates than these pieces of hot garbage.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
I'm always shocked how this forum can swing on a nightly basis from 'Control is dead' to 'Please print more super-fast mana fixing'.
If it weren't for limited, I would've liked to see these at uncommon. However, I think this works best to push the monocolored matters subtheme that devotion brings to the table. All in all, it's not exciting, but I'm glad it's here.

I’d like to see the Phyrexians invade the Homelands plane. Once they assimilated the poor design they would be easier for another group to take out.
So guildgates are common and then slap on scry and it equals rare...i dont get it...I CAN SEE MYSELF OPENING THESE INSTEAD OF ANY REAL RARES DURING MY NEXT 20 DRAFTS! Fml...
Dual lands should not be rare unless there is a method for them to enter the battlefield untapped.
I think that's a fair rule. I'd actually go one step further and say dual lands should not be rare ever, but then again I'm not trying to make money off this game.
To repeat what everyone has said and to foreshadow what everyone will say, these are pretty good but are so not rare. Blatant cash-grab.
Ok, these suck. I was hoping for some dual lands that I could use in my 2 colors deck in Modern without needing to by shocklands or filterlands but these are horrible. I think that we can safely say that this set is not turning out the way it was expected.
Also, this guarantees that I'm not getting any Theros boosters. I was going to get a booster box of Theros, but with trash like this at rare, I am not going to buy a single booster pack. What is even worse is that I'm pretty sure that this is a 10 card cycle, so we'll be wasting more space in Born of the Gods on this crap.
These are deceptively powerful. Scry 1 on a land doesn't seem like much, but given you better odds of drawing into lands on tight keeps is not to be scoffed at. Anyone who played with the original Ravnica Karoo lands will understand how awesome it is when your lands help you find or play as more lands than they actually are. While not as straight up strong as Shocklands, they do give 2 colour aggro decks amazing depth.
The scariest part of these god awful lands is a quote in the article itself:
There was some concerns within development that the scry lands might be too powerful.
I'm just happy we didn't get the "balanced" versions.
At this point, my hope is that Theros design represents a scaling back in power level for all subsequent sets, and not just a widespread design failure that has afflicted the entire company. Because the design of these cards, and a disproportionate number of others in the set, is alarmingly out of touch with competitive constructed Magic.
Well, if this adds to slowing down the format, then paying 2 life for a bunch of shocklands won't be so bad anymore. I'm very curious as to how the standard meta will develop because of this. Seems like it could go any direction.

Not only that Burning Earth still exists. Is it me or isn't evolving wilds better and thats a common. You lose the scry but you don't get as mana flooded and you get the land you want.
Some think this will deter 3 color but someone will make 4-5 colors using a playset of every shockland.
I've never met a bigger bunch of babies than on these forums. These lands are great and I cant wait to use them. Our standard has been very lucky with the shocks and the check lands. This set has been awesome and these lands are fine. All the work they put into the gate, do you really think they'd let them die with new shocks or filter lands?
So is freaking Kazandu Refuge.
These are awful, awful Rare duals.
It's like Time Spiral all over again.

Must be going for a slow format with these.
Well, I guess all you have to do to turn a common into a rare is add Scry 1!
I am curious what makes a scry 1 constitute a steep jump in rarity.

No they won't. Scry 1 >>>>>>> Nothing. Every competitive player will run these, just gotta deal with the fact they suck.
You don't get mana flooded when you scry either.
