Roon the Rhino is horrible. Its effects aren't even green!
And why are they pushing tricolor so hard?!
If you say that, why is Thraximundar blue? How is Uril, the Miststalker red? If they made EVERY tri-color card have to have every element of the three colors on them, we would end up with a ton of cards that have too much on them. The third color that isn't represented on most multi-color cards' effects are usually just used to justify a high P/W to CMC ratio. Sure, they could've printed the Roon, Thraxi, and Uril as two color generals, but we would definitely see them as, in order, 5 mana 3/3 no trample, 7 mana 6/4, 5 mana 4/4, or something weaker than the current version. These cards are not out of color pie because they have the colors inside them that justifies their effects. If they made Roon a BRG card, I would have joined you on the "this isn't a black/red/green ability," but he's both W and U, the colors that have access to blinking in the color pie.
After looking into the decklist, some of the tricolor generals don't generally fit into the decks themselves, meaning there is no general synergy. I like Sydri as a commander either in 1v1 or multiplayer, but the deck she is in doesn't have the tools to completely abuse her. Even Mayael the Anima doesn't fit into the deck it was built in.
I shall presume that WotC did that to encourage the players to use their own skills to customize the decks. I know that these decks are intended to be playable immediately after being obtained, but it would not be good for the players if they did not have any incentive to alter the decks to suit themselves, which is the most major reason that I always build my own decks completely from basic components, and never purchase pre-constructed decks.
Also, is that perhaps why they did not reprint the Invasion dragons? Those dragons are not always easy to have synergies and strategies that incorporate them, so I must admit, however unwillingly, that they may not have been the best cards to be reprinted for this set.

Very true. But it's worth noting that this was also a problem in the original Commander decks.
Anyone here actually try playing the Zedruu deck straight out of the box, using him as the commander? I swear, of all the things in that deck, I think there was about one card that you'd actually ever want to donate to an opponent...

The player in our group usually just donated lands once we got high enough that they didn't matter much 7+ lands. Gaining the extra cards and life was a good thing for him as his deck was mostly about winning with Insurrection so digging for that was one of his priorities.
What I missed on Zedruu was a "take-back permanents you own" ability.
Something like 2: Gain control of target permanent you own.
Or costed at 3 or something.
They could have snucked in Gilded Drake or made a functional copy working on non-legendaries.
I agree that a few of the generals didn't seem like they were in a perfect shell but they still worked within their deck.
However in my eyes Sydri, Mayael and to a large extent Sharuum doesn't fit their decks well.
Not to talk about commanders who feels like they belong somewhere else: Gahiji who feels like it needs a token-deck. Marath feels like it needs a DS-effect to reach proper shenanigan-levels, however this is more a cry-out that Marath cannot feed himself unlike Ghave, Guru of Spores. Thraximundar who doesn't feel like a pick for a control-player in grixis.
So in my eyes the 2013 product feels more off than Gen 1.

That said, all three of the tri-colour legendaries in Power Hungry fit the deck's theme very well! Just another reason why it's my favorite of the bunch

Someday, I will own all of the dragons. All of them. 43/111, approximately 39% complete. Over a third done.
(calling it now; there will be a cycle of Legendary dual lands with Basic Land types in Theros block)
... AAAAAAAAND I was wrong
Hmm Power Hungry does feature a sacrifice outlet and I guess that's what makes me dislike it. It reminds me too much of my own proxy Kresh the Bloodbraided Jund-deck, which funny enough also features a sacrificial outlet.
Too much of the same for me I guess
I'm more interested in the Bant decklist as I think the list seems really hard to pull off, but it's the most aggressive and combo-heavy of the decks, so bad play could have devastating consequences while good play may give a small degree of bonus.
