You just never know when someone will just say something crazy to you!
For instance, I heard about this:
"It was not suprising the tritons mistook her as Thassa. After all, vaporizing her foes and exploring into the deep sea for fascinating creatures were something Thassa might do. "

BTW, going by the hints, my guess at abilities would be some kind of scry (mistaken for Thassa), an unsummon of some sort (vaporize) and search out creatures with CMC >6 (exploring for deep sea creatures).
I assume it will be bouncing a creature, and seeing the power, it will probably be her minus ability (it could be her + ability if she is costed high)
exploring into the deep sea for fascinating creatures http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?name=+[explore]
This is a strange one. She is compared to Thassa, so it would be something like look at the top card of library. "Explore for fascinating creatures" that actually sounds exactly like Domri's + ability; scry, if it's a creature, put it in your hand.
The "explore the deep sea" could also mean; reveal the top card of your library, if it's an island or forest, put it into play. That sounds like a blue/green ability and is strong enough for a Planeswalker. It sounds like a reasonable + ability.
Except that the 'fascinating creatures' part then doesn't make sense..
And I don't know how there could be 3 abilities hidden in the text...
Could be a spell that shows Kiora vaporizing her foe, which means while her planeswalker card will exist, it won't have the vaporizing ability, since that's on another card. (Well, hints at this time of the spoilers may refer to more than one card.)
But being mistaken for Thassa means its most likely Kiora, since the planswalker is a merfolk and the god most often takes the form of a merfolk.
Here's hoping we get the UG Kiora, although I won't be surprised if she turns out to be mono U (since her biology aspect seems narrowed down to deep-sea-creatures at the moment.)
Hmm, assuming this is Kiora's planeswalker card, I can only make out two abilities clearly (the vaporizing and the creature one).
Either this means a 2-ability planeswalker (possible but probably not that likely) or the bit about resembling Thassa is not just a way of saying she looks like a Merfolk, but also a clue. In which case there are two options: Scrying, or making creatures unblockable. The second option has more synergy with the creatures she seeks, so I'd prefer that.

Scrying isn't evergreen iirc, and I think Maro might have confirmed they avoid block mechanics on planeswalkers. Even if so, I don't think scrying and searching would be on the same card since the shuffle makes them a little counterproductive.
I'm sold on the bounce and search abilities though.
Basically, if you want to open packs to get cards for Standard and Modern, the simpler approach is to just buy all the singles you need and then set some money on fire to make up the difference.
She could be digging some amount of cards into library for a creature in a similar manner Mayael the Anima did. Maybe something like
Kiora Atua | 2GU
Planeswalker — Kiora
+1: Scry 2.
-1: Return target creature to its owner's hand.
-X: Look at the top X cards of your library. You may put a creature card with converted mana cost X or less from among them onto the battlefield. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
Loyalty: 3
Or maybe X is fixed, dunno. This or similar could be a fine utility card.
+ ability: Explore (land fetch)
- ability: Vaporize (bounce ala Vapor Snag?)
- ability: get the fatties (kinda like Nissa's ultimate?)
This looks pretty spot on in my opinion, good green/blue balance. Deep sea creatures = Leviathans or Krakens? her ultimate could be one or more huge tokens, or it could be a tutor for huge creatures, though I don't think the latter will/should be restricted to certain creature types.

This sounds realistic to me. It mixes green and blue abilities, and the +1 and -X have synergy. If they wanted to boost her, the -X could be adjusted to "look at the top X cards and put ALL creatures with CMC <= X onto the battlefield", like a Genesis Wave for creatures.
"vaporizing her foes" - exile target creature. His controller puts a 2/1 spirit creature on the battlefield that has "this creature can only block creatures with flying"
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

Kiora Atua 3UG
+1: Reveal the top card of your library. If it's a land card, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put that card into your hand.
-3: Put target creature on top of its owner's library.
-7: Search your library for a Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, or Serpent creature card and put it into the battlefield.

So we can start make a few guesses about her abilities...
vaporizing her foes
So Vaporize eh?

I can't wait to see Alex Bertoncini activate her twice in one turn!
Basically, Quest for Ula's Temple's last line:
"You may put a Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, or Serpent creature card from your hand onto the battlefield."
That's still pretty good for a -- cheaper, hopefully repeatable -- ultimate.
