If you want to play with enchantments, you should be playing Bant hexproof.
The nyxborn cycle is really bad. Because a 3 mana 3/1 in GREEN is totally passing the vanilla test. A 3 mana 2/3 in blue is bad because I'd rather have a 2 mana 2/2 flier in blue. The white one is a complete joke and the red and black ones are also really mediocre. Pick them near last like March of the returned and Spark jolt in Theros limited. Anyone who thinks these are anywhere NEAR constructed playable is wrong
It could be quite fun to cast for free Stolen Identity or new clone instant and make second Oracle of Bones.
Sure the card would be insane if it would not have tribute.
I see it as a 5/3 haste like 99% of the time, in any casual format that "might" potentially get an insane spell out of it otherwise.
However, in any reasonable constructed, this will be just way to weak and never do something good, its stats are just not good and that combined with a punisher mechanic is highly unlikely to be any good.

This is directly from the wizard's site "The Twelve Labors" from 2 days ago about ragemonger before they had it finalized.. I'm hoping it means that they gave up on it and we might see some lower mana cost ones.
"It can come down on turn two, and at the time Minotaurs lacked two-drops. There was a "Hurloon" rule that Minotaurs are 2/3 or bigger, which makes it difficult for them to also cost two mana without a downside."
Also Meletis Astronomer is pretty bad. Unless you are playing mono-enchantments in limited which gets super countered by Annul you shouldn't play this guy. So much worse than Augur of Bolas by comparison. It's just like how Pain Seer and Fellhide Spiritbender Aren't nearly as good as Dark Confidant and Kiki-Jiki
No idea. Black shouldn't have worse creatures than blue, and it certainly shouldn't fall that far behind Blue in the aura department either. Not making much sense to me.

You've got a rat in your walls, and cheese won't solve anything.
5/3 haste with a drawback for 2RR is justifiable as a rare? Seems poor. Also, enjoy topdecking that card. Yeah, not gonna pay the Tribute when you have no cards in hand...enjoy your 4-mana Spike Jester.
Man, took long enough for someone to point this out. Oracle is bad partly because it is a terrible topdeck, and it would go in a deck that goes into topdeck mode a lot (RDW).
The key to making a competitively viable punisher card is making both options extremely good, and making both options apply to overlapping circumstances. Vexing Devil sees some play because both options are usually very good for what RDW wants to do.
Oracle is either a 5/3 haste for 4 (good, not great), or a wheel spin which, in the kind of deck this guy would see play in, is probably a 1 or 2 CMC card.
Ok but its also competing with a few other creatures at 4cost
You have Fanatic of Mogis, Mogis god of slaughter, Purphoros, The Felhide Spiritbinder, Chandra, Erebos
Just to name a few and honestly i would rather run any one of those I think.
Maybe if it was RB like i said before. Idk They gotta give the tribe something quicker

You don't want fanatic because the only heavy devotion mino is Reckoner. Mogis might be good in that deck. Purph is okay. What? Chandra would be okay if you went midrange. ...no.
Oracle is potentially really, really scary if your opponent doesn't pay and you've got something like a Worldfire in your hand lol...
Can't see too many card worth abusing him with atm though aside from maybe undercity plague, especially since he has haste and could possibly swing for a 2nd whack of it. That could really screw someone over.

Chandra wasnt really thought out to well your most likely right on that one. I still think Fanatic has a spot. Only heavy devotion is reckoner? Look at mono black devotion. Nightveil spectre...If the only thing considered heavy devotion is a card with 3 of the same mana symbols then I think all the devotion decks are pretty much out of luck. and we both know that's not the case. Rageblood shaman gives him +1/+1 and adds 2 devotion. Ragemonger makes him cost one less and adds one devotion. Felhide Copies him and hits for more instant damage well giving you another creature and adding devotion. Idk still have alot to be seen depending how many more they print and if they are going to make any more cost less. Guess we will just have to wait and see
God, all of the tears from whiny Standard-only players are delicious. Every time someone says this is the WORST BLOCK EVER or BotG is the WORST SET EVER a minotaur gets its horns.
Anyone who thinks Brimaz, Hero of Iroas, Spirit of the Labyrinth, Fated Infatuation, Thassa's Rebuff, Whelming Wave, Bile Blight, Drown in Sorrow, Searing Blood, Unravel the Aether and Kiora's Follower are not going to see Constructed play are not paying attention (or possibly just bad at magic). And I left out a bunch of borderline cards that are just waiting for the right archetype: Fanatic of Xenagos, all the Gods but Karametra, Hero of Leina Tower, Pain Seer, Archetype of Courage etc etc.
Further confirmation that Tribute is a terribad mechanic. Might ok in limited but none of this from tonight is standard playable. I love a few parts of this set, but so many poorly designed cards! What's the deal WotC?
yes, if you want an enchantment that bad.

Could the Nyxborn be any more boring?

Yeah, I rather like that he chains himself into more enchantments to drop on him. Should be a solid card in limited play
Because they go in different decks

Mindslaver + Oracles of Bones + Deadeye Navigator
Modern just got a new top deck people.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Deadbone Oracle Slaver will be a thing, it's too hard to disrupt.
