I'm a major Modern fan, but just knowing that this deck is going to be some variant of B/W tokens is so...underwhelming. Obviously, we need to wait until we see the contents, but it is such an odd selection for them. I wonder if they chose it specifically so they could stick a planeswalker in there.
Yup, it shows Wizards is always keeping an eye on secondary market prices. BW is the safest thing they could make outside of something like a zoo deck.
I feel like I should preorder one. It's underwhelming now, but when they throw in a WB fetch, an auriok champion and/or bitterblossom, the price will all of a sudden be $125.
For all we know it'll have 2 or even 3 fetches in it...but probably just the one. Either way, you are completely right that price is gonna jump real fast, despite any revealed goofiness of the deck when lists are posted. Preordering is not much of a risk. I doubt there any chance that you couldn't at least resell it for what you paid, if not more, if you were terribly disapointed in the contents.
Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Man, I was really hoping it would be Twin actually. Could have been a good way to reprint Remand again, as well as Tarn, Serum Visions, and Twin itself.
Restore my hope in you, WotC. You want to make Modern your format that can be reprinted at will and have a low money point of entry? Prove it with this product.
For those expecting playsets of cards; frankly I don't see it. Wizards have never done it. Then again, they just introduced mythics into a precon. I need to rub my eyes again.
Printing playsets could be a good thing. It'll hit hoarders real hard if massive amounts are printed.
But seriously, Wizards should have an online shop for such products (unopened, packaged, not singles). Ever-increasing card prices can be mitigated this way...
I think BB was left off the back panel for two reasons... so we don't have the hype driving up the price, and because Timmy (ie new players) hate cards like BB (it makes you lose life each turn.) Instead this is totally marketed at Timmy how loves creatures and planeswalkers. I'm sure we will see BB in the deck.

Event decks have playsets. They won't have playsets of the centerpiece money cards, but the use of 4 ofs is one of the defining features of event decks. "Vampire Onslaught" had a playset of Dismember back when Dismember was a big deal in standard. Stuff like Path to Exile could easily be a playset.
I think all the people saying double sided tokens are evidence for BB is ridiculous. Elspeth and lingering souls, there, 2 different tokens that you can 100% say will be in the deck. This thing was being developed before the BR list was probably. WOTC decided to print the safest and most in exciting modern deck they possibly could, ON PURPOSE.
The deck would have been developed not only before BB was unbanned but before it price spiked- unless they can make last minute revisions it just won't be there.
I would say on playability alone BB should not be in BW tokens at all as it probably is not a key part in the optimal build anyway, unlike lingering souls or spectral procession, scullers and 1cc discard. It is an option of course, but it is not essential. If the build uses honor the pure/virtue mixed then I doubt they would include it at all. If they just stick to virtue and keep it very token based with few auriok champion or sculler type cards then it may make it.
That said Elspeth has never been used in the highest profile versions of this deck, and is really only there for new or younger players as a wow factor.
I would expect a lousy mana base with perhaps a couple of shrines, maybe a couple of marsh flats, but more realistically they will put guildgates in, maybe two filters and some windbrisks. The problem with the deck is that it is supposed to be able to compete out of the box, which just won't happen if the land is very sub optimal.

Aaron Forsythe just tweeted "Heads up... The picture of the Modern Event Deck floating around is a pre-production mockup and is not completely accurate to what's final."
I wonder if something is being changed (i.e. Bitterblossom) due to the B&R list changes.
R&D probably wanted a competitive deck that plays like regular magic, so as not to spoil players. Pod and Tron play very differently than say, a duel deck.

Remand just got a small reprint with Jace vs. Vraska, hate the new art, though.
I know, that's what I was trying to imply with "again" but didn't. Even with the reprint it's still a $10 card.
Am I the only one who doesn't think it'll matter what's in the deck? It's $75 and they won't pump too many valuable cards into it, so even if it does contain a bitterblossom I doubt these will fly off the shelves. If I had to guess, I'd say it'll have one Marsh Flats as the money card, as has already been stated BB makes no sense with honor of the pure.
Hero and Elspeth are safe mythic cards to reprint because.... they've been reprinted before. Not sure why Wizards would do that. Both cards are in healthy circulation; people rather see more cards that are fewer in other people's binders.
Wizards may as well throw in Wurmcoil Engine for the token theme. It's also a prerelease promo. #sacarsm
very unlikely for they print something with value (low) above(EDIT) way highter than $150
as it is unlikely for it to have sorin, lord of innistrad ( it would be in the back of the deck( as leaders?))
also others enchantments that boosts yours tokens is also unlikely.

Sure BB makes sense... when you add a Bad Moon in there, too. Tokens and buffs for tokens. All tokens get buffs! YAY!

The deck has value and some good cards and is not unreallistic
Realistic is them putting, at the time of final design approval, no less than $150 secondary value of cards in this box. Heck, the about to be released Duel Deck value of Jace ($15), Vraska ($8), and Remand ($18 - out of stock) is worth more than MSRP of the deck ($41 total using Star City prices for most recent printings). Price drop post release? sure. You bet. Don't see the release value being less than $150 for this item.
I see this being closer to $250 worth of cards, if you knew the list for 100% certainty and bought all the cards now.

This deck would have a value of +-$156 just with rares&MR , and would not be that valuable cause Parths and inquisitions would fall in price ( the same with other unncommons and commons) but yeah they could reprint one arid mesa one Fetid Heath one hero and one wurmcoil engine and one Blade splicer ( unless in the 10 tokens that the deck has they made some doubles..) ( with those two 7 different token) ( maybe they can make some never seem before tokens like 2/2 colorless Spawn artifact creature token from Spawning Pit)
Still the deck will have a hight value ( i guess) ( only 4 cards ( counting as 1 offs) have value high than $20)

Edit: They could put in Leyline of the Meek, but what I really want to know is whats the odds Leyline of Sanctity is in the board?
