Wow, these mechanics suck. I mean, I'm sure they'll result in some good cards, but talk about a lack of imagination. Strive is the only interesting one, and even it is just a mechanic from an older card put on new cards.
Dakra Mystic is neat. I'm a big fan of symmetrical effects, and this has the added bonus of not being the same every time you activate her ability.
While Constellation isn't very innovative, at least it means that we are getting actual enchantment support.
I could see this as a one-sided board wipe IF black was given enough good enchantment creatures, when in fact it has some of the worst. So no this is not a one-sided board wipe for black, this is a middle-finger to black. I mean really, it couldn't have costed 5?
I mean, I really don't think black needs any more bones. They already have pretty much everything right now.
Because its effect is considerably better than a Wrath effect by virtue of being easier to break the symmetry of.
Its effect is generally going to be more powerful than Wrath and less powerful than Plague Wind.
It's probably actually costed correctly to be Standard-played if (big if) a B or B/x deck can realistically be built with almost all its creatures being enchantment creatures.
I'm not seeing a major difference between strive and multi-kicker. Apart from maybe more flexibility in the extra strive mana cost? Anyone else agree it feels very similar?

I'm disappointed to see Monstrosity back, but at least Constellation seems interesting.
EDIT: Also, it looks like we're definitely not getting a Damnation reprint this block, then...
It's better than Tribute.
That's not saying much.
As those 2 were the options, I think that it says enough.
Yes, I suppose it's the lesser of the two evils. It doesn't mean it isn't still a boring and underwhelming mechanic.
People knocking on the Strive mechanic need to wait until they see it on a card that ISN'T a common. I would be shocked if we didn't see a much more competitively-costed use of the mechanic at uncommon or rare (or Mythic?)

While that's true, I am hoping that we get some Modern playables this time around. That is more likely with Monstrosity than with Tribute.
Extinguish All Hope seems good as a 1-of in the Dredge deck for the Plague Wind possibility, especially post-wrath after your bestow creatures have fallen off and they have a bunch of soldier tokens out as blockers. And if you're bestowing a Lotleth Troll at the time, you can even regenerate in response (though you'll want to do this after attacking, as it taps him).
It might be too much of a liability, though, as it gets rid of Jarad, Snake, Demon and any 1/1s you happen to be bestowing. Probably not useful, then. I wish it said "non-enchantment, non-enchanted creatures".
What's up with people knocking Ajani's Presence? As far as commons go, this will be crazy good in limited! Mortal's Resolve was decent in heroic decks, and this is a strict upgrade everywhere including in colour!
Also, that 1-drop minotaur is everything Blaggro could have asked for. 2 power, reasonable bestow cost, and Sluggishness modality is some serious utility at that spot on the curve.

The Dakra Mystic is a bit strange, in that it's actually completely useless in denying your opponent good cards. No matter what your decision is, your opponent will still see exactly one "blind" card (card you haven't seen yet) each draw step.
The main benefit instead seems to be in improving your own draws and/or decks that could normally make use of a Howling Mine effect.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

You can't counter it with Ertai's Trickery.

Constellation seems like it'll see all sorts of play. That ability is strong, and in green no less.
but really, that starfish is halfway decent.
