I also left out that Krasis Incubation works with all the counter-doubling effects, so in 2 colors, UG has Sage + Incubation + [Kalonian Hydra(7mana) or Primeval Bounty(7mana) or Vorel(9mana) or nothing(14mana)] that work, plus the various Sage + Ooze Flux + Death's Presence + Scourge of Skola Vale or other sac outlet combos.
Not that I'm suggesting limiting these to two colors really makes them any more viable, mind you.
Ajani's ultimate is probably the funniest thing I've seen in the game in some time. Not that it's bad -- it's pretty decent, but it doesn't win you the game instantly -- but there's just something about the statement "You gain 100 life" that is really, really funny to me.
yep you gain a turn every other turn. with a third card that puts at least two more counters, you can go infinite. best thing is that you don't have to spend any more mana or wait for it to untap. also you can attack with it since it could be 6/6 or bigger. in fact, you could keep it that size and threaten your opponent. you can take the extra turn in response to removal.
I really just wanna use Ajani's first +1 ability with Experiment One, Fathom Mage, Simic Manipulator and Gyre Sage. Even 3/6 hexproof sylvan caryatids sound like fun to me.
I seem to recall calling an Ajani with an aura related ability (tutoring/digging) as far back as the M14 spoiler season. I know, I know. Nothing that anyone with a pair of eyes and half a brain couldn't see coming.
im thinking of how to bust that heroic dude. Best i can see is playing it in a mimeoplasm deck like stated before, or using unspeakable symbol to convert 15 life into a turn. Primeval bounty in standard seems like it would be cool, and ajani and that together, if you could chain spells means you could chain turns. Very far fetched but fun none the less

I'm not sure if you can stack the triggers this way, but perhaps with an ajani's chosen, on the battlefield, you may not need heliod, maybe you can just cast ephara's enlightenment 3 times.
sunbond + a way to gain five life per turn, for example if sage is bestowed with chromanticore, and attacking
Some way to get 3 counters on sage per turn for example the new ajani + illusionist's bracers, which, after 2 turns of setup, nets 2 additional turns to continue the cycle.

Good ones. The Ajani's Chosen one works; it actually doesn't matter how you stack the triggers, since the counters will get put on regardless.

Heroic counts spells cast, not abilities that target. This isn't a combo.
Steel Sabotage'ng Orbs of Mellowness since 2011.
Works especially well withe hex creatures
And Sage of Hours doesn't actually care how it got its +1/+1 counters.
With an easy to disrupt combo that goes off on turn 9 at the earliest? I don't think so.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

It just needs +1/+1 counters. They don't have to come from spells. 5,000 posts eh?
No one was talking about heroic.

I can think of a few.
ephara's enlightenment + heliod, god of the sun + the 12 mana for making 3 cleric tokens and 9 for casting ephara's enlightenment 3 times.
