It's definitely not uncommon to have the trigger/cost difference matter. It can easily be the difference between an extra card with Sphinx's Rev or not. Not even just when you're at 1. If you're at 4, you protect yourself from Bolt/Helix and get an extra card, for example.

That is true but lets be honest. No Revelation deck will use this land. I already have the temples and I certainly dont want lands that hurt me. The main reason why most Esper decks play so many temples but almost no shocklands besides Hallowed Fountain of course
As much as I love the land, I'm not looking forward to the price. Almost every 3+ color deck and every speedy 2 color deck is going to want a full playset, so this thing is going to be expensive while it is in Standard and crash to Brass levels when it rotates. But yeah, I love it. JOU looks like it might make up for BNG.

When I hit my 3000 post mark, I'm gone for good.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Launch the Fleet should have been named Iroas' Turn Five Alpha Strike. I'm already brewing. Shame that the Launch on Anax and Cymede (and similar cards) don't boost the tokens though, because they enter after the buff. I've been wanting to find a home for those lovebirds ever since they were spoiled in Heroes vs. Monsters.
I love this card! Im thinking R/W tokens could be a strong deck, Brimaz, Purphoros, Iroas, maybe legions initiative?(although it should of said non-token creatures), molten re-births?

Revelation is just one example. I've Lightning Helixed, Lightning Bolted, etc. at 1 before. Pretty much any deck that runs instant burn or lifegain and would run either City or this could have it be relevant. I don't see how that's much more fringe than going up against Port.
I can see one difference - Mana Confluence is not a trigger and will be much less obnoxious on MTGO ("Always yield to this" has never worked for me for City of Brass, for some reason it always asks to confirm the trigger anyways).
On MTGO if you have mana in your pool it will ignore your auto yields for some reason. So your auto yield will only function if you City of Brass is tapped without producing mana.
They really need a second option. "Auto yield to this. No I really know what I'm doing and I just want to yield to this trigger"
Yes the land is good. But I Siren seems playable in MUD in place of a few j-fams against midrange? Nykthos for 7 isn't that unrealistic and mindcontrol + residual flyer is also good.
looking to use this, and confluence to really break MUD in a few weeks.
but I think Hypnotic Siren is a much more interesting card. The Bestow cost is high, but I do feel like it could possibly see play as a 1 of in mono blue devotion or esper control as a pseudo removal
Mana Confluence is a beaut. I could see it showing up in a future core set, too, for a Standard that has less shocklands floating around than our current one.
That's a pretty safe bet. It's so flavor-neutral that it seems designed specifically to be reprinted whenever they need to, making it a poor card to sit on...
Launch the Fleet - XW
Sorcery
X+1 target creatures gain "blah blah" until end of turn.
"Strive" is another in a LONG line of stupid keywords.
EDIT: Mana Confluence is another one of those cards that every designer has come up with at some point. I think I first suggested it in 2002 or so. Will obviously be played.
This set is continuing to excite me. I get the feeling that Born of the Gods might have been lackbuster set because the god stuff was being left for Nyx.

I think it will be more than city of brass after it rotates, city of brass has been reprinted a bunch, and this the only printing of this so far, just saying

I do not know if this was mentioned or not but what would happen if you played Quicken then played lauch the fleet targeting some of your opponents creatures during their attack phase?
So make a Red white or even a mono white devotion deck with launch the fleet, and or a heroic deck. play launch the fleet use it's strive cost x amount of times and swing those creatures makes more than just one attacking token, and play Ajani's Presence and win in one swing unless your opponent can get rid of all creatures but since Ajani's Presence is a instant speed card. they would have to deal with it countering any kill cards, because it give any number of target creatures +1/+1 and indestructible while Launch the fleet gives us tons of tokens to target with it... I see a semi green white heroic deck being built that just might work very well even putting this in a mono blue devotion deck with a splash of white would be very dangerous to see and most likely would happen.

It's almost like it's not a keyword or something.
Thanks.
