Could a Hybrid Wedge block work with the monocolor of Theros? Would be pretty epic with the Devotion cards, of course.
Snow lands might make sense with the stuff like Spawn of Thraxes, and devotion. Devote to both your snow and your color.

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
I think that we could see Allied Fetchlands reprinted here. This is, without question, the thing that people have been asking for most 'for a long time'. It also lets more players get into Modern without having to pay the price of the fetchlands that already exist in that format, which is considerable.
It could be other things, but usually it seems like Rosewater is hinting toward something big when he gives hints like this. If it just ends up being something dumb like full art lands, I'll be really disappointed.
It's also really friggin' dry, which is what caused the Mongolians to become raiders and eventually gave rise to Genghis, who nearly conquered both Asia and Europe. TMYK.
Anyway, back on topic:
The returning thing is quite obviously the return of the Orc tribe, the revealed art makes it blatantly obvious. There is basically nothing else the grey skinned humanoids can be. And people have been bugging Maro about their return since he started Blogatog. He has also stated that both Orcs and Dwarves (the second most requested race) have started to become more popular among R&D and Storyline. Thus making it a question of not if, but when they would return.
As for the new thing that people have been requesting for a long time. The most logical answer would be the inevitable wedge block.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Wishlist:
- Pander to johnnies and spikes instead of EDH players and Timmies, like Theros did
What?
Theros standard is very much a Spike Standard with a splash of Timmy. And that is just how standard is. Johnny plays magic on his own terms, and isn't gonna play what is good he is gonna play some wierd deck, and may eke out a few wins, or even do well in a local meta because his deck is tuned to beat a smaller field of opponents.
If wedge block is the thing, and I'm definately on the side wanting it, i just really REALLY hope Ramaz is not printed...that little freak and stay in D14. Dega Sarkahn would be awesome.

The "Something Old we haven't done in ages!" is going to be Horsemanship, since that gets a lot of focus in Commander and because no one thinks of Mongols without thinking of the Dorthraki these days.

Cyme we inne frið, fram the grip of deaþ to lif inne ðis smylte land.
I don't really see the logic in placing the most monocolor-centric block in decades (Theros)
between two heavily multicolor sets.
There's also the part where Maro flat out said there would be around five years between multicolor blocks
They can make it a Hybrid-centric block without breaking that "rule" though.
That would be cool with me.
You very well may be right about the Orcs though.
When did Maro say there will be a 5-year gape between multicolor blocks? Lorwyn-Shadowmoor and Shards of Alara were back to back.

Printing a bunch of playable cards with Horsemanship would completely destroy the power of it

That's because Shadowmoor was actually supposed to be a monocolorr matters block. Most people just interpreted it as multicolor because of the high hybrid count.

This isn't Wikipedia, so I'm rather baffled why so many people here expect citations for common knowledge, but: here
(and I was slightly off- the gap is 4 years).
Shadowmoor/Alara didn't violate that because they don't consider Hybrid multicolor
(which is definitely debatable, but I see their point).

That wasn't my point. There isn't design room in a set focusing on warlords or Mongolian type tribes.
If you insist.
Anyway, I think it's way too early to tell what there's room for. We don't know anything about the design yet, except that there are a few twists in the structure, and there's a popular returning feature and a new feature people have been asking for. It seems perfectly plausible that Snow is the returning feature.
Sarkhan is awesome.... I can't wait. Maybe Bolas will be back; maybe fetches will. I'd like to see something of a tribute to Genghis Khan as well.

Well, the thing is that Shadowmoor was not meant to be multicolored block. Chroma -- supports heavily monocolored decks, hybrid can be used both monocolored and multicolored, etc.

To cite an excellent article: "By the letter of the law, both hybrid and gold cards are considered “multicolor” cards, but the two have opposing impacts on your environment. In the abstract, hybrids are more castable than mono-color cards, and gold cards are less castable."
Hybrid cards can be and are played in more monocolored decks than monocolored cards. You need only look at Nightveil Specter and it's inclusion in both mono blue and mono black decks to see the truth of this. Hybrid mana facilitates monocolored decks better than monocolored mana!
After the 30 minute preview video for Conspiracy yesterday I was a little disappointed by that this one was only 3 minutes long. I guess they can't give away too much without overshadowing everything else going on between now & then but still. They always leave us wanting more. That said I'm excited about the possibilities.
From a flavor standpoint, I'd kinda like to see fortifications developed but I'm not sure how well that would work out. Too many at all rarities would be clunky it seems.
2. No LIVING dragons doesn't mean we can't have awesome dragon variants, ie. Bladewing the Risen
3. Barbarians!
Maybe there will be dragon spirits a la Keiga. Mongolian dragons should be rather like Chinese and Japanese ones--complete with being treated reverently--so maybe some force outside Tarkir killed the dragons and Sarkhan got rightfully ticked.
I doubt there will be barbarians; the people seem rather Mongolian (and Khans like Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan come from Mongolia), and I don't think I've read about significant Mongolian barbarian equivalents.
I'm actually thinking they might try to introduce Ramaz the planeswalker from Duels 2014. Artistically and storyline wise, I could picture someone like him arriving on Tarkir. In addition, he does have some connection to the prior Eldrazi story. Finally, he could fill the niche of both another Tri-colored planeswalker, and being an enemy colored grouping. I'm thinking that could be one of the things that they've been hinting towards that people were demanding, more tri-colored Planeswalkers. Granted, this is just random speculation, but I figured I couldn't hurt anything by chiming in once again.
