Bahahaha, boy, am I glad I didn't invest in Modern.
Well, down goes the price of foil Treasure Cruises. One could say they're getting scuttled.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Hahahaha! I didn't expect birthing pod to be banned. Glad that the cruising and digging is done for. Almost every single deck was splashing blue for cruise. It was starting to get a bit ridiculous.
i have to say i laughed aloud when i read pod was banned. treasure cruise was too strong but pod was quietly still dominating tournaments without too much being said about it. vengevine makes a comeback with the new phoenix from FRF and grave troll??
I'm not a modern player, but banning pod floored me. Was it that dominating? I seem to recall various other decks winning recently. Killing an entire deck seems drastic.
ya know this is entirely disappointing. I rather dont like what this thought process means for modern.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
Like you literally have no point in learning a deck well in that format, you don't get to play it for long. Its worse than standard rotation at this point because its less predictable. (though following this trend expect both twin, something from affinity, and jeskai ascendency getting the axe soon.
Banning cruise in legacy was uncalled for, it shook up the meta a ton but wasn't necessarily broken.
An entire deck archetype has just been erased from Modern... that took me by surprise. I knew Birthing Pod was the top deck, but I didn't know it was that problematic. Treasure Cruise getting banned/restricted everywhere but Standard is understandable; I'm quite sure it was a Skullclamp case, where they realized how powerful it was far too late. Not particularly shocked that Dig Through Time wasn't hit as hard, since it's not Ancestral freaking Recall. All the unbans seem pretty reasonable; Worldgorger Dragon in particular is something that should have been unbanned long ago, seeing as how it sees little play in Vintage.
-Modern
Cruise and Dig had to go. They were certainly problems and seeing UR Delver take over that format much in the same way that it did with Legacy seemed to be the right call. Pod was completely out of left field, but it's day was coming. It allowed for too many combos, free stuff (it's basically a Demonic Tutor and a Dark Ritual EACH TURN) and I'm kind of happy it's gone.
-Legacy
I'm glad Ancestral Recall is gone, again. Worldgorger Dragon unban makes me want to play Dragon in Legacy again. I like how they mention Griselbrand.
-Vintage
Makes sense for restriction. I'm not too familiar with the format so IDK how Gifts will effect it.
As an avid pod player for the last year, I am okay with this list. The format was fine before cruise came out, and with these bans, it seems like splintertwin and tron may and make a small come back, though I wonder if jeskai ascendancy will still be lurking in the dark corners. Pod was a very fun deck to play, so I may go join the dredgevine crowd for my kicks.
Damn! I told everyone I knew that Tc and dig would get banned and even said that pod should get the treatment as well. Was really expecting bloodbraid to come off the list though. Oh well. Now the meta game is a complete mystery for the pro tour! Wonder what kind of surprises will arise?
I'm fine with these changes. Worldgorger Dragon & Gifts Ungiven surprised me, as they both seem out of left field. Not seeing BBE or A. Visions is Modern but getting back GGT sort of surprised me too as I've not heard anyone talk about him.
Cruise had to go. It was degenerate & defined multiple formats. You had decks like Burn splashing it & it hit decks like Shardless BUG hard when they can't card advantage you anymore 'cause you just draw three cards for a blue mana.
I know this has already been said, but wow I was not expecting pod to go without at least a lesser replacement. Killing off an entire archetype seems kinda drastic.
Dragon and Gifts are great ideas. These are cards that no one seriously thinks will cause problems in the formats where they are being allowed. Dragon is a clunky combo with Animate Dead that might see some fringe play but loses to yard hate AND creature removal. Although, I do like the concept of casting Kruphix' Insight (or whatever the look-at-6-draw-3-ench card is) and then pulling an Animate Dead while simultaneously putting Dragon in the yard. Gifts was bad in Vintage when it was a one-card-I-win with stuff like Recoup+Tendrils+Yagwill+Ritual or some nonsense. But in today's world, Vintage has a bigger aggro game going on and cards like Jace compete for the 4-drop bomb category.
So, for eternal formats, this seems all good. In Legacy, people just swap out their Cruises for Digs and have to play a more fair mana base. Seems fine. In Vintage, Delver goes back to playing more Gush or more Digs and all is well.
I have no idea about Modern, but that's a format for suckers anyway.

TC banned in legacy was a little surprising to me. So as the unban of WGD...
Yes! Finally pod is banned.Dos this means Zoo decks are more likely to become a thing again? *3*
I secretly ship Ral x Jace... and Nissa x Chandra... :">Cruise had to go. It was degenerate & defined multiple formats. You had decks like Burn splashing it & it hit decks like Shardless BUG hard when they can't card advantage you anymore 'cause you just draw three cards for a blue mana.
Happy with the changes (for now).
Cruise getting banned was probably inevitable but what was DTT hurting?
