Great name! I am really hoping if they are going for a Lovecraftian block that they don't try to shoehorn the Eldrazi in. While I like their design they never felt overly lovecraftian to me, Innistrad however could really pull it off if it is done properly.
Now I am just hoping for non-merfolk fish-people!
One of my worries about the Eldrazi is that the Eldrazi wouldn't integrate well into settings other than Zendikar; it would feel like "X, but with Eldrazi" instead of a unique combination of flavor. If the Eldrazi invaded, say, Ravnica, would anything new happen?
Original Zendikar gets a pass because, as the block introducing the Eldrazi, it was built with the Eldrazi in mind. Scars of Mirrodin integrated its villains well into the setting, with the mechanical horror of Phyrexia mixing well with Mirrodin and its plentiful artifacts.
Innistrad is one of the best planes to reintroduce the Eldrazi in. Doomsday cults around every corner! Eldritch horrors from beyond the veil! Lovecraftian horror is not so different from Innistrad's flavor of horror, so it works really well. The only problem here is that we would get back-to-back Eldrazi blocks. That wouldn't be necessary, though; we could simply save the Eldrazi for the third Innistrad block.
this is good news. i loved the flavor of innistrad. i have high hopes for this set.
i wonder if they're finally going to make legendary werewolves which makes me wonder if the flip cards are going to come back. they were very fun to use but im wondering if the werewolves' flip condition will be changed or left the same. lastly, i wonder about Tamiyo, the Moon Sage. im pretty sure she'll be coming back but im wondering how much impact she'll be doing the story as well as how her card is going to be interpreted this time.
I feel the same way as so many posters in this thread. Innistrad is my favorite set in terms of both flavor and draft environments, so normally I'd be super excited. Unfortunately, that excitement is dampened by the utterly disappointing return to Zendikar, another set I originally enjoyed very much.
Hopefully, this is a true return to the Innistrad SET and not so much a return to Avacyn Restored (as BFZ was a really a return to Rise of the Eldrazi). That set changed the plane way too much in bad ways.
So, when this set rotates in, we lose the fetchlands at the same time? That should be interesting. I can definitely see the enemy checklands being reprinted, but what I really, really want is Ghost Quarter. Cavern of Souls would help to offset Snapcaster Mage if they wanted to reprint both, I suppose.
I don't think that Avacyn can become corrupted, normally. It would take an outside force, but doesnt'the trailer hint that Avacyn isn't corrupted, but outright destroyed? The blood-red feather, the seeming destruction of her symbol... I'm curious as to what would do this, though. Brainstorming, we have Eldrazi invasion, Phyrexian expansion, or an individual Planeswalker corrupting her with black mana. Tibalt? Vraska has shown knowledge of the plane as well, she's my "out of nowhere" pick.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.
"Entitled:" the entire ad hominem fallacy condensed into a single word. It doesn't strengthen your argument to attack motivations, it just makes you look like you don't understand the argument.
Storyline has to do with a planeswalker showing up in a small town in the province of Nephalia in pursuit of information regarding an unusual artifact he found. As he investigates, he notices that everyone looks unusual, almost as if they are some sort of fish-person hybrid. This investigation will slowly drive him more mad as he pursues the mysteries of the rumored underwater kingdom from which hail the Deep Ones, ancient amphibious beings that have been breeding with the humans of the small town throughout the generations...
What do you mean this is Shadows Over Innistrad and not Shadows Over Innsmouth? What about Father Kozilek and Mother Emrakul? Esoteric Order of Kozilek sounds right, though.
Does this means the return of Madness as a mechanic??
I can only assume Sorin made Avacyn out of Nahiri somehow, and now that the Eldrazi are free, he has to undo it, letting darkness fall over his home because he needs Nahiri again

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
I'm interested to see what they do with Innistrad story-wise after Avacyn Restored. I really didn't like what they did with Khans of Tarkir's time-travelling shenanigans, but I do like BFZ. I guess we'll see.
That all said, I'm a bit worried about back-to-back return blocks.
Calling Eldrazi invading Innistrad. The Lovecraft love reference is simply too overt to ignore. (Plus they have to make colorless matters a part of the block's structure, and Innistrad isn't an artifact-heavy plane). Gothic Horror -> Lovecraftian Horror is a logical and flavorful jump, and it would explain why we have two return planes back to back.
Just give me playable Zombies, WotC. I don't care about Snappy or Lili, but my favorite deck of all time was Zombie Mortar pod; and my second favorite was Aristocrats(both with and without Boros Reckoner 13 damage combo). I got teased with the lame Zombie lord Mythic in Dragons of Tarkir and nothing came of it. Please make up for it now and give us some good zombies. It was my favorite period of standard(the only black spot was Thragtusk). If you F this up...
Alternate Dominaria (Time Spiral)
Back to Ice Age (Coldsnap)
New Mirrodin
Return to Ravnica
Battle for Zendika
New Eerie Innistrad?
That's way too much
Unless there's a Cavern of Souls reprint, or some other kind of cool all color producing land, or some neat legendary land/creature (also depends how flavorful the legendary permanent is), I can happily ignore Shadows Of Innistrad.
Id think that a snapcaster reprint would be less likely than Wiz just making a new card thats red, seeing as how much MaRo seems to wish the OG was that color.

Probably not a great idea while Abbot is still in Standard.

Another thing that destroyed BFZ. Theros truly did feel like the end of good art IMO. Some cards like Kiora were great in art BFZ but overall? Eh.

The Vorthos community will await the consequences of the Eldrazi Titans' deaths/sealing. We will keep the watch.

Reanimate sucks cause it needs cards like Entomb to work.
