Why are people weirded out by the $10 tag? Thats the same as MM2015. All things considered they could have charged $20 a pack and gotten away with it.
Oh, but the stores will. There's every reason to think this set opens the gates at 20 - 30 dollars a pack. The only limitation will be whether SOMEONE is willing to pay that price. ITS TIME TO FINALLY FIND OUT THE MAXIMUM POSSIBLE THESE IDIOTS (eg: us ) WILL PAY FOR PACKS! If you have a store that is dedicated to a good draft experience and willing to sell them at MSRP to make that happen, GO TO ALL THE DRAFTS YOU CAN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
Everyone else? Sit back and wait for Legacy staples to drop in price on eBay slightly during the print run and gobble up the cards. Remember, while Modern Masters did jack-all for Tarmagoyf and the other mythics, it cut prices of staple uncommons and commons in half or more while it was in print.
That's what I plan on doing let the sheep open the packs and profit off there greed. I will be at the lgs when this goes on sale for sure some players will give up there best modern stuff just to take a stupid chance of pulling something better. Profit off greed.
Good news to hear of this, the only immediate criticisms are Force of Will shouldn't be mythic, and that I am quite dubious how good this will be if it is supposed to be similar like Modern Masters. Them saying this has a limited focus and me remembering how MM2's focus on it was too much I hope they don't go too far with it. Hopefully there is enough value spread through out the rarities, this is something MM2 had trouble with as well. At $10 this could easily be another MM2 debacle, so all I can do is wait to see what is in it.
lol, y'all so negative it's disgusting. At least let the dust settle before you start yelling out your bond villian-esque monologue about how you intend to profit off of human greed and **** all the people you have to play fnm with every week out of their format staples for sealed product. Good lord.

One day The Reserved List will meet its end.One Day...
When this was first rumored I had a thought that they could do something like a $29.99 MSRP per pack and include the reserve list cards. That would be one way of making sure the value for the collectors didn't tank.
Still, even this could be a test run, maybe WOTC will judge how that secret shadow cabal that keeps the list in place reacts to this and maybe Eternal Masters 2 will have the RL cards.
Question is, what's on the Reserved List that people would want, besides the Power Nine (which I don't think ANYONE is expecting to see back, Reserved List or no...Well, maybe Timetwister)? No, that's not rhetorical; I'm just not coming up with much offhand. (Except Scarwood Bandits, but I'm probably in a marked minority there.)

People shouldn't be so greedy and have self control that's not my problem .

The original dual lands to start. There are tons of other important cards, but the duals are the most hindering thing for Legacy on the reserved list.

Original dual lands. The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. Gaea's Cradle would be nice, too. Legacy Elves, a "budget" deck, has $600+ tied up in four lands alone.

power nines, dual lands, arabian nights lands, powerful utility lands in general, cards like moat, memory jar, time spiral, earthcraft, NULL ROAD,80% of the blue cards present in the reserved list etc etc
and we will not see any of these. but maybe we can get a new art for bolt! hurray! \o/
Bah, figures that I did forget about Tundra & Co. At least now, they're no longer strictly superior to every other dual land out there (q.v. the Flooded Strand and Mystic Gate cycles. The key word is "strictly", thank you...). So maybe they'd have a chance if the Reserved List were ever rescinded.
this set will make price go up even more for some staples and this set will definetly kill vintage/legacy
Look... I understand the chain of logic (making some cards accessible -> increased player base -> increased demand -> increased prices for non-reprints) but I can't think of a better way to give truth to the idea that players will complain about ANYTHING than the sentiment that reprints we have all clamored for to save the format will, instead kill it.
This is the right kind of thinking. What can WotC put at common and uncommon in draft to support archetypes relevant to Legacy? THAT is where you will have an opportunity for price reductions.

lol, try playing vintage or legacy with shock lands instead of dual lands and this "strictly" will become "incomparable superior"
