There is no eldrazi deck in modern anymore. This is, bad. Not good.

Ancestral Vision seems pretty good with Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. I wonder if that has anything to do with the unbanning.

10/15/2006: This has no mana cost, which means it can't normally be cast as a spell.

While I'm sure it'll find a home in decks with Jace, Vryn's Prodigy and Snapcaster Mage it can't be cast using their abilities.

Doesn't work, Jace only give you the ability to cast the card, but it cannot be cast as it has no mana cost (unlike Cascade which allows you to play it without paying its mana cost).

Wow, it took them how many years to restrict Golem? People have been asking for that since the card was printed... Makes much more sense than restricting Chalice last time.

Ok, so it's more like flashback then, which can't be given to cards without mana costs. That's a relief, I thought Telepath Unbound's -3 just allowed you to play it free out of your graveyard.

Happy to see Visions unbanned. Seems a lot of folks really wanted that to come back and shake things up. I can definitely see that happening!

A fine update. Glad ot see Ancestral Vision and Toooohopter/Sword back, win all around. I get to keep my mox Opals too, and others their Simian Spirit Guides. Fun!

5 mana to draw 3 cards and make a 4/4 menace is fair in modern. Bring to light could just win the game with scapeshift instead of being a poor mans concentrate.

Lodestone restriction is surprising to me considering chalice got restricted recently, however I like it. The dumbest workshop draws usually go turn 1 lodestone, go into some other lock piece next turn to effectively win the game on the spot usually. Wonder what workshops will do now as an archetype with 2 big pieces restricted.

Glad to see that they only banned the Eye, and not temple as well. Weaken, but don't kill Eldrazi decks while also weakening Tron, which has been superb for a while.

If you think the price hike is bad in Modern, imagine what would happen if Wizards sanctions EDH tournament. Lots and LOTS of cards will go beyond casual's reach.

And here comes the buyout of ancestral visions of course.

I don't think I will trade/sell my Ancestral Visions. I want to keep the duel deck together.

So it was Eye. Oh well... I was hopeful it would be Temple but what's done is done.

Surprised by the Ancestral unban honestly. The buyout that's happening right now is quite possibly everything I hate about Magic now: the volatility and abject insanity that is the singles card market.

Sword unban is interesting. Curious to see what a new combo deck in Modern looks like.

An easy question: does baby jace -3 or Goblin Dark-Dwellers trigger work with ancestral visions?

Jace does not but GDD apparently does.

I am pretty pleased with this announcement. my roommate was, too. he has been using his playset of visions on the kitchen table since we were in high school and now he is like a hundred dollars richer or something like that. I get that they are supposed to be unbanned for control, but I have a feeling AV is only really going to help storm . control needs card draw but what it really needs is something better than mana leak. counterspell wouldn't even be that good in modern, they just need a way to sneak it in without it 'ruining' standard.

onto eldrazi, I think the eye was obviously the most problematic card but I am pleased the temple was untouched. eldrazi aren't going anywhere, they are just going back to their roots of ramping and killing you with huge guys. I am curious as to how the line will or won't be blurred between eldrazi decks and tron decks going forward.

finally, sword of the meek is a cool card that never really got a chance to shine. even when it did it was overshadowed by marit lage. today is your day little buddy!
