Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Now THAT is a quality banned/restricted list. The unbanning of Sword of the Meek is unexpected, but I am more than willing to try to create a Prison-style deck in Modern running Foundry Combo. Hopefully the health of the format will stay in check though with the ubanning of Ancestral Visions, though Vision is not that busted without Shardless Agen or Bloodbraid Elf.
Based on watching Vintage Super League and other various vintage streams, it does not surprise me at all that Lodestone Golem is restricted. Early Lodestones warped so many games.
Ancestral Vision already went 5x as expensive...same with Sword of the Meek. Buyout madness...

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
Nooooo why the heck was Lodestone restricted? Awwww that's disappointing. Well, here's your chance Big Blue lol. Storm, go nuts! I get that a T1 golem on the play sucks but this is a far different deck as far as it's policing ability with a few Juggernauts slotted back in...
edit-come to think of it, it's a little odd that AV is unbanned, too, considering we just found out drawing three, even mid-game (TC obv) is really good but I will enjoy watching Modern players everywhere figure out what the hell to play at the next big tourney!
That lodestone golem restriction is interesting. Its the only creature on the restricted list and its been like 20 years since a creature was restricted in vintage.
Its amazing that there is actually a creature being restricted in vintage
I thought there would be two bans from the Eldrazi deck. If only one card had to go, Eye was probably the right one. Is that enough? We'll see.
Also, I actually did not expect unbans in Modern this time. I figured they would aim for stabilizing the format with the Eldrazi bans and let things settle before unbanning something, maybe before the next PT.
Lodestone Golem was one of my favorite cards for Vintage. I love Workshop decks, but even I admit it was a little over the top oppressive at times. I hope it remains a valid contender, since mono-blue Vintage is even worse in my opinion.
Overall, these changes are definitely interesting.
What information I was able to see before it went down again, tgplayer and ebay both had ancestral vision up to $50+ for available copies, which is bonkers, but then again, Time spiral was a while ago, Jace vs Chandra duel deck was a while ago, and duel deck anthologies wasn't exactly a particularly large print run ... soooo I suppose a massive spike shouldn't have been too surprising. Not sure $50 will stick in the long term, but we'll just have to wait and see once supply can get added back into the market post-unbanning/buyout.
Modern:
Eye of Ugin is banned.
Ancestral Vision is unbanned.
Sword of the Meek is unbanned.
Vintage:
Lodestone Golem is restricted.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Hey! I can go play Modern again!
... aaaaaaaaand Ancestral Vision is getting bought out as we speak, whodathunkit?
I'm not sure if Sword of the meek and Thopter Foundry have a chance against the meta game.
Thanks to DNC at Heroes of the plane studios for this awesome sig and SGT_Chubbz for the awesome avy.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.

Good job, guys
It's already spiked to $50+... it's a terrible time to buy, that ship sailed.

hopefully foil copies of sword of the meek don't skyrocket, I was putting off buying one for edh
Modern may be interesting again though
I meant not a bad time to buy Duel Deck Anthologies
