I wonder if just straight reprints from Legends are what we get or slightly different versions of the Elders. Seems difficult to make a :different" creature if we are going to use their names (Chromiun, Arcades....etc..)
Maybe nobody ataully has a "card" or they go with something like Elder Dragon of the ...blank.. for the actual card names
Hmm..??

Whoever is the artist for Colossal Dreadmaw is, he must be so happy that his art gets featured in 4 different sets!
Jesper Ejsing, the artist, has been drawing for Magic for a long while. Colossal Dreadmaw needs 106 more reprintings to catch up to the artist's contributions, assuming Jesper doesn't draw anything else. (Jesper has drawn 109 cards according to Gatherer.)

There's no reason they couldn't make new Legendary cards for the original Elder Dragons. None of them are very exciting by modern standards so they could differentiate them a lot more and drop the upkeep costs.
I also just speculated in the Infernal Judgment thread that they might be printing a pre-spark version of Ugin, so a creature Bolas might fit as well since we already have a version in Standard. Maybe they really want that Dark Intimations deck to take off though
This is going to sound weird but this might be the first time that I'd actually like to get a free Welcome deck from my local LGS.

1. Nexus of Fate is too good for a buy-a-box (from a wpn store while available) Promo exclusive. (if these were laying on top of all sealed boxes, that would be another story)
2. On the Champion Playmat NicolBolas does NOT have the orb inbetween his horns.
3. Why do the booster arts NOT reflect the actual card (is this just for Vivien??)(Are ther other cards with these pictures??)
Demon of Catastrophes is awesome with being a sac outlet a good thing in at least the deck I know my buddy wants him in.
Gigantosaurus....Yes Please....now thats stompy
The pack art for Tezzeret is the same one as the planeswalker deck art. This may mean that the Vivien art on the pack is from her planeswalker deck. I find it very strange if the booster art is not for a card you can actually get inside booster packs.

However, they set the precedent with Teferi in Dominaria. His booster art is also the one on the PW deck BOX, not from either of his cards.

Now this is something I can get behind. Im already running Gravecrawler and Phyrexian Altar in my Gisa and Geralf deck, perhaps I could cut something for this new Tomb.

I didn't realize this. In another thread tezzeret and liliana planeswalker decks have been spoiled and it looks like all the art is different from the planeswalker deck art. I guess they just commissioned the art for the packaging.
Wow Nexus is going to suck the value out of the set.... This is easly a $20ish card... which means your box's are effectly $20 cheaper. This means less value to filter though the set. I would almost not be suprised if some stores just sold themselves all the buy a box promos for thier invintory....
The elephant is the proof that cards for beginners don't need to suck
Yes. One of the reasons I said I wouldn't actually mind getting a free Welcome pack as a couple of these cards may be far-fringe playable in certain formats.

Gigantosaurus isn't really a Timmy card, though. Timmy usually isn't happy with just a vanilla. It can have a downside, if it's flavorful (Think Lord of the Pit, not Force of Nature.), but it more often has an upside. It is a Spike card, though, just like Ghoultree, another aggressively costed (anywhere from G to 7G, probably around 4G in most games) 10/10.
The demon hits both Timmy and Spike, though. Again because the downside is flavorful. (Demons and to a lesser extent djinn and vampires are good for this sort of flavor thing. And yes, it is usually black's thing.)

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Considering we have confirmation of alot of bolas history happening in the upcoming stories I'd assume Patient Rebuilding is actually just Bolas building his Amonkhet right after his corruption of the gods post damnation.
The top half is the rubble and the water depicts what it will soon be
Really? I thought that that area looked a lot more like bolas's mediation plane

As a Spike, I firmly disagree. A GGGGG 10/10 is splashy, but it´s not what I want in my deck to win games, it has no evasion and dies to most removal. It´s just not a powerful card. And the GGGGG casting cost means that I have to play mono green or close to it, which means that I can´t utilize a bigger selection of the best cards in the available card pool, which in turn is not where you want to be as a Spike. The sheer size is not a good tradeoff for the color restriction, which means that it´s not a good card to convert into wins, and that is exactly what I want my cards to do.
I would rather pay one more mana for Colossal Dreadmaw, and I´m not even close to touching that for constructed.
Maybe I´m getting something wrong with the psychographics or something, but I just don´t see how the ´saurus can be a Spike card when it is not even a good card.
