Wow, enemy color uncommon too? That's nice for a core set
I never expected anything less - the usual ten card cycle is such a common thing now and ORI had it. Why go back on this pattern if it works so well?
They do, on occasion, not do it. Ixilan had only 8 (Leaving out White/Blue and Green/Black) because they didn't match any of the four tribe identities in the format. It's something they like, but it isn't a 100% certainty.
Archer might actually be constructed playable. It's missing life gain, but it triggers on opponents creatures as well and comes with a good body. I dig it.

not bad, would it have killed them to gift the lifegain element of Blood ArtistZulaport cutthroat? If "and you gain that much life" was too much just the "and you gain 1 life"?
Well, the elf triggers for all creatures, not only your own and it's body is a lot more relevant than those two (plus reach and deathtoch). Additional lifegain might have actually been a bit much.
Well I guess with tricolor marquee cards in the Elder Dragons it makes sense that we'd see BRG get a wedge around death matters.
...Is M19 a stealth tricolor set? Are we going to get trilands? Maybe Lairs for the Elder Dragons?

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
