Just saw this on the Salvation spoiler page: Suncleanser... don't see any other thread about it. SB tech for infect**, and goodbye walking ballista (Though it'll just remove counters in response to this...?)
**Misread, it's only target opponent... Stupid card.
Also, flavorfail? This is a cleric from Ixalan... What counters even exist in Ixalan? It should at least be some sort of being from Kaladesh...

it's interesting, but Ballista will just sac in response, and it's target opponent, not target player, so it does nothing against Infect. it will definitely find a home, I just don't know where

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Yeah, I am scratching my head on this one too. It says "Target opponent loses all counters" though. So it doesn't remove the infect counters you receive? What in the world would this be used for? Are there any other kinds of counters on a player?

"Guys! We figured out how to help you combat the energy decks that we overpowered to hell and back! We know you weren't happy about us banning your cards, now we can unban them! Wait.. we forgot about Kaladesh rotating out soon. Crap. Sorry guys! Here's a fun card!"
Well, it can protect a creature from infect. Does it combo with cumulative upkeep? glacial chasm looks really good with it, assuming you can animate it when the suncleanser comes into play.
If you can turn Glacial Chasm (or any other cumulative upkeep) into a creature then it will not gain any counters.

Edit: tornado is pretty insane with it. Animating enchantments, even only once, is harder, though.
Jeez, with the sheer number of blatant hate cards in this set, where's all the stuff that screws over control decks and mono-red/BR aggro? I've never once played against an energy deck, either in Arena or casual paper, that I found unfun and obnoxious, while I see control and RDW all the freaking time. I have yet to go up against a bogles deck that's annoying either. I don't even play Modern, and some of these cards make me sad.

It is good against mono red and R/B in arena(at least) u can block for ever (or make them use a removal on it (while blocking))
Edit: Also, this will totally shut down energy decks for people still playing Frontier?
What is frontier?
I'll assume that's a serious question. Frontier is an officially unrecognized format that extends from MTG: Origins to Current sets. It's an eternal format with (as of yet) no bans, so people frequently play things like Aetherworks Marvel and the Cat Combo in the format. I know a few of my LGSs actually tried running events. From results on MTGGoldfish (which actually has a section for Frontier Meta) it's still played in many shops in Japan.
When I saw this thread title I thought that someone was just reposting a foreign-language scan of Cleansing Nova because they hadn't seen the card, I was like "Where's no way they have a card with such a similar name in the set"
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

In Commander, it can remove experience counters too, for whatever that's worth.

Nope, I hate hexmage effects too. There are enough ways to ruin the day of someone focusing a lot on counters without saying "screw you specifically".

But even without that this is a cool card
Shuts down experience counter edh decks might be sideboard for Gishath since this is from that plane too bad it can't shoot animar, soul of elements
