They said one of the lands is a reference to one of the planeswalker’s Home plane so the new forest is skalla. Not sure about the swamp but it must be a reprint
What if they started making lands of all rarities show up exclusively in the land slot, so now you could get a rare or mythic in place of a basic? They did something similar with DFCs in the past.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

They sorta explored that twice in multicolored sets in Khans (or Fate Reforged, I forget) and in Dragon's Maze with fetches and shocks respectively. I mean, it wasn't exclusive, but you could get a sought-after rare land instead of your basic/guildgate. It's a really interesting idea, especially in regard to limited.
So we yet to see the Dragon and Ox token creators. For a balance in the crunch, the last 2 white cards are probably uncommon and the reds could be common or uncommon. For the dragon Brood keeper or dragon egg is probably likely and for the Ox. It’s uncommon and white. What could be white uncommon and produces Ox tokens? I’m unsure myself.
These basic lands are pretty disappointing. Why no new art, or at least some better picks? There's plenty of good "generic-looking" basic land art out there, like the John Avon Lorwyn-style basics they had in M11 (?). Oh well. The Esper "not an Island" island reprint is nice I guess.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

I was thinking the same thing if retooling the basic land slot to accommodate all other lands in the set should be standard practice. Basic lands are not hard to come by, and I feel the basic land spot is really a wasted card slot that could still be land focused. They dabbled in this before as mentioned above.
I think it would solve two things with draft in mind.
1) Easier access to mana fixing. It will be interesting to see how M19 drafts are if those common tapped lands are influential.
2) Better pack value. A rare land would still show up 4 or 5 times a box based on Dragon's Maze boosters. An uncommon land shows up maybe ~12 times and won't use 1 of 3 uncommon spots anymore, so you get more uncommons that could have more utility than a land in the pack. Then the rest are basic lands.
The rare lands should still be rare enough to not tank previously printed rare cycles. Plus, it may discourage "value" rare drafting in sets if you had a choice of a shockland/fetch/etc or another useful rare/mythic that could help win your draft tournament. It comes down to whether you value the utility of the land card over other spells it replaces in draft.
Now realistically I doubt they would give you more rares at no additional cost if it was included in every set going forward. Basic lands for beginners can be obtained from other products that are geared for them anyway. M19 doesn't have a rare/uncommon land cycle, so basics and the common land cycle will be plentiful. For people that like buying boxes of non-core sets, as of now you get 36 R/M plus maybe 1 foil rare (37). What i described above would be 36 R/M plus ~4 rare lands plus maybe ~1 foil Rare (41). Having the possibility to crack two non-foil rares in one pack feels exciting and probably get some more booster sales depending on the rare cycle.
I still want them to introduce borderless full art foil lands as the new standard for foil basic lands. To this day I'm still sniping and picking up full art lands from unstable just because they look so damn good.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

So the last rare must be the dragon that makes that token(s)

I would love to see them let the community vote on their favorite 4 basic land arts for each color and print the winners
It would be unfortunate if they did that since golden era card art would be automatically excluded. Want to see Mark Poole's art foiled? Forget it.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Doomsdayin'
Or it's literally just Brood Keeper and/or Dragon Egg
right?
now if only it could exist with the old border, in foil... my life would be COMPLEAT
haha nah, but this is an awesome art reprint for basic island. 10/10
