It is interesting to note Rakdos is the only original Guild leader that is left now. Who would have thought it would be the R/B demon that survives the longest.
Niv is alive as well, just currently not in the leading position. Or am I missing something?
He's very much alive, as are Razia and Azor; it's unclear whether Svogthir is, undeath being what it is. But, Rakdos is the only parun who has continuously led his guild since the Guildpact was signed.
Archfiend of MisfortuneBBRR
Creature - Demon {M}
Multikicker
When you cast this spell, until end of turn, for each time it was kicked, you may have a coin that comes up heads be treated as though it had come up tails.
Flying, trample
When Archfiend of Misfortune enters the battlefield flip a coin for each non-Demon creature. For each coin that comes up tails, destroy that creature.
5/5
Hmmm...I was super excited to see Rakdos, but this is pretty terrible as it has nothing to do with the direction of the guild in constructed play. He seems completely out of place. Also, relying on coin flips in constructed is never a reliable strategy. I remember people trying to play Fiery Gambit at regionals. Boy did it flop.
I'm just going to note here that Liliana's Contract is in Standard. If Rakdos can provide enough Demons with different names, you may very well have a more midrange-y Rakdos deck show up that can win almost out of nowhere. Currently, we have

well to be fair, they can't get rid of him, I'm pretty sure the Rakdos do their best not to keep resummoning each time, but he appears anyways.

IIRC, Razia and Svogthir both bit the dust in the original Ravnica novel. As of GRN, Rakdos, Niv, Azor, and Borborygmos were the only surviving Paruns, and Azor's playing guard duty on Useless Island. We haven't been given confirmation on Big Borby yet, but given that Domri seems to be leading the Gruul now, his chances aren't looking great.
*Edit*
Totally forgot the events of the Dissension novel. Svogthir is still possibly at-large as well.

I forgot Razia was killed; my confusion I think came from the Dimir Shapeshifter who later impersonated her? I honestly thought she was banished along with Feather by Aurelia. Shows how hazy my lore memory gets.
Pendantic, but: Borborygmos was not a parun - far from it. The paruns were the signatories of the Guildpact. He was simply Gruul leader at the moment we became aware of the guilds around the time of the Second Decamillennial. The Gruul parun was his distant ancestor Cisarzim, who definitely died long ago because Svogthir stole some of his body parts.
The matter of the Orzhov parun is tough - presumably the Obzedat signed the Guildpact, but it's not clear how similar the composition of that version of the Ghost Council was to the most recent one.
Oh, and Mother Selesnya is still... sort... of... living (as a voice coming from within Vitu-Ghazi), but hasn't been guildleader for awhile.

I like the idea, but you're better off just attacking and killing them quicker.
Oh, I'm not suggesting that you try to win using the Contract. I'm just saying play a bunch of Demons and removal in a Rakdos deck, and use the Contract for card draw, because it may just win you the game randomly. If you play the Contract on curve, the likelihood that you draw into a 6-drop _and_ the land to play it is actually pretty good, and with two good ones so far (Rakdos and Belzenlok), you have either a one-sided destruction wave, or more card advantage.
A more combo-oriented version would be using Doom Whisperer and similar cards to dump the two Legendaries into the GY and then Primevals' Glorious Rebirth and then 'win'.
kind of more seems like an unhinged card. i guess they tried to get some rakdos crazy feeling going on... but please, for a 6 mana mythic demon it could also just be destroy without the coinflip
would feel bad if u play this and the opponents best creatures would stay on the battlefield
You think they could staple basically a 9-mana one sided board wipe (Plague Wind / In Garruk's Wake) to a 6-cost demon and leave a 6/6 flampler around?

Kickass ability, probably my favorite on any Rakdos so far. But I hate that ******* name.
Others have already pointed out how the Rakdos Guild has degenerated from a scary chaos cult to a bunch of weird carnies and flashy showmen. You can see that very devolution in Rakdos's own card names: Rakdos the Defiler and Rakdos Lord of Riots are solid titles. But now in 2019 he's Rakdos the Showstopper. Everything is carnivals and circuses and performers now, and I'm just done with the whole guild. A pity, since Rakdos was one of my favorite guilds in OG Ravnica.
As for the art, I need to find a high-res before I can judge it.

They reflavored Ravnica a bit so that each guild had a specific job. Kinda hard to see what "evil cultists" brings to the table.
There is nothing generic about coin flipping on a constructed playable body - that is a lazy criticism imho. On average he's going to come in and eat half your opponents creatures, less for you if you build properly. He will never sac himself.
It's not like BR has zero tools to handle what's left over...
I think this will show up. It's a great effect and recurring this off eldest reborn (super doable) is going to absolutely back breaking a lot of the time.
Worst case scenario if I lose every flip I get a 6/6 flying trample for 6. That's fine. even if he eats one dude he is doing more than his cmc would suggest. ravenous chupacabra is 2 mana less for a 2/2 body. Granted it's targeted removal - but it's one shot on a mediocre body. Chupa is plenty playable and I think this will be too.
I don't mind that they're making Rakdos into the Timmy guild this time. Rakdos v.1 (hellbent) was pretty Johnny, and Rakdos v.2 (unleash) was definitely Spike. So, kind of a nice trilogy, in fact.
Having Mr. Rakdos be a big, dumb coin flip card that goes boom is a very Timmy thing. I'm OK with all that.
But why does this card operate on the variable of creature types, instead of, like... almost anything else? Rakdos as a guild has never cared about tribal anything, as far as I can remember. I would have liked to see a different build-around. CMC? Power? Tapped/untapped? Any of those would have felt more "Rakdos". So, I rather dislike this card because it just doesn't feel like it plays with the guild. Had it been another B/R Demon in another set... sure.
