I'm more interested in the foil promo card, to be honest.
The foil lands are a neat idea as they seem to be something sought after by some people, being it a pack of 20 it probably means there will be 1 foil and 1 regular land for each art at 4 arts per basic land.
Oversized dice? Hell yes! I love collecting dice and oversized ones are cool, especially the 55mm ones. I am all for buying the bundles now. The foil lands are a nice inclusion. Were promos already in bundles before this? I don't recall, haven't bought one since Amonkhet/Hour for the full token sets.

Not that I know of.
From the era of fat packs, I got Guildpact and Dissension, then the whole time spiral block and most recent one was Guilds of Ravnica. None of them had promo cards.
I think that's a new thing.
Promos are new in the bundle. The foil lands will be good if they're really dead set on not including them as part of sets any more. Won't know that until we see set lists for war of the spark and m20, though.
Actually, I was able to see all the stuff they're offering, and something I'm fairly certain they're doing new is the theme boosters. 35 cards per pack with 1 rare or mythic. (Total of 36 cards.) It also shows there will be 5 Planeswalker decks for m20 also.
(Theme boosters have their own separate page, and you can see how many Planeswalker decks there are by looking at the the display box.)
I see that they’re not advertising the comprehensive card image guide booklet thing. Haven’t bought a bundle since Ixalan block, have they done away with them already or is this a new development?

They still exists but are pretty much filler material now imo
Promo card is the more interesting piece, imo. Maybe they're trying to make things less stupid with the BaB promos by turning them into Buy-a-Bundle promos? Makes them less money overall, most likely, but puts more into circulation if they're just in every single Bundle, and decreases the chance of a Nexus of Fate-type issue of pricing (not that that was the only issue with Nexus).

How many people buy bundles instead of buying a box on release?
I see people buying bundles all the time, sure. But enough bundles being purchased in a sets lifetime enough to offset the incredible gaffs that WotC still haven't learned from?

If they take that route, I think it would have more to do with accessibility than the number in circulation. Many casual players don't buy cards by the booster box. It would also be a reasonable step down from tying them to boxes. Given the discrepancy between the paces of the design cycle and public opinion, they can't just cancel the unique promos on short notice and do away with them. I would guess that promos are printed on their own sheets, and putting them in booster packs wouldn't be an option. That would leave them with promos designed and ordered some time in advance, so changing packaging would be the easiest solution in terms of what to do with the promos.
Alternately, the promos could just be an alt-art version of a card in the set, with the BaB promos staying as-is.
I've been liking the bundles of late, especially with foil lands recently. My only gripe is that I wish the box closed securely like a BCW box. The ten packs and a playset of uncommons fit into the current box nicely though.
I wonder if the promo will be like the ones from the pre-release kits? You get a random rare or mythic card that has some sort of identifier to make it standout from a normal foil rare or mythic (be that a stamp of some kind, or maybe the set symbol set behind the card text?). The set symbol behind the card text would likely make these cards very popular, which would spur on a lot of sales.

Oh I'm sure all these changes were meant to spur sales, especially on a Coreset. I think the decrease in lands to get more foil lands will be welcomed by many people who collect or bling out their decks, and I hope that continues forward. The promo I feel will be a lottery of course and that alone could jack up the price. I hope the price point doesn't swing north of 40USD because of the promo inclusion.
They are going the pokemon model to create a sense of collectibility via marketing. A flash in the pan approach, but it does work when the player base has a lot of new players and especially young teenagers.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Im tending to think the "promo" card is going to be the Bristled Hydra or Holiday Box Promo type variety.
Nothing random and definately not a "good" card

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
Are they switching the monetization from a unique card like Nexus of Fate to a random in-booster foil and 20 foil lands? Is that why this change is happening?
Hmmm...I wait until I see what’s in M20 and the surrounding Standard before I start to decide I want this. I got particular interests that I don’t expect to be met in Standard’s environment at the time of this release, but anyway...

The bundle version of the product now comes with 20 foil basic lands and an oversized spindown.
I'm not sure I'd even be able to lift that, but i definitely want one. I'd use it as a coffee table or something

Damn... forgot to carry the decimal.
Oh well, that's why we lost MCO.

My 720 Peasant Cube
I strongly hope there is still a booklet
