Anti-gate deck tech was literally my first thought as well when I saw this card. This is really nice to have since there are three strong red sweepers in the format.
This is y'alls reminder that Nameless Race has no subtype in Gatherer. From the Errata: "This currently has no creature type. It’s Nameless."

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

It's almost confirmed that it's Ugin in disguise. The color pallet matches. There are some people that already did the leg work on this, so I can't take credit for this revelation.
