How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
mmm I would love to play this with stuff like promise of bunrei and monastery mentor? getting a +1/+1 bonus for probably the rest of the game might be worth zero mana =P
I thought it's going to be an Angel's Grace variant. That could be a good card to counter some combo decks, and would fit other cards in cycle being reactive, not proactive.
I think I would rather it gained life, lol. This is a strange card. At least it's not legendary.
Can anyone think of a reason why this is a safety valve? What degenerate plays is this looking to counter? I'm sort of at a loss. This isn't stopping "degenerate" board wipes, it doesn't stop decks that create a super board state early. I don't get it.
I suppose I'm glad White didn't just get a piece of super removal like it always seems to though. Leaves the door open for Black to get a good unconditional Exile at 2cmc, which I think the color desperately needs.

Protects weenies from Chainwhirler, I guess? Still seems underwhelming compared to the other Forces.
It counters Dread of Night and Sulfur Elemental for Legacy D&T (and in some case Massacre, etc... yuo get the point). It's too narrow then. Unless we get a Misthollow Griffin-like creature in white, this card is probably garbage ?
I don't see any use in Modern.

Pioneer - A bunch of stuff Modern - Humans Legacy - Grixis Phoenix / Death & Taxes
That's... Underwhlming, but nice art, at least... Apart from the awkward angel almost facing the camera while pointing the charge in a completely different direction...
I think this is fine. It allows more aggressive decks to run more reactive cards and pitch them for an proactive play. For example, you can save up your mana for a Path to Exile, then if there's nothing worth Pathing, just pitch it for a team pump. The fact that some decks can use it to bait Walking Ballistas and Anger of the Gods is also a nice bonus.
Not as exciting as the other ones in the cycle, but wouldn't be ashamed to play it.
So WW in modern seems medium, but maybe tokens could use this.
T1 do a thing, t2 drop 2 tokens, t3 lingering souls eot opp turn flash this in and you are representing 8 damage over 4 bodies with 4 more power and toughness in the yard.
That's shortening your clock by a lot. If your T1 was discard you can clear out whatever they need to stop you or win (make them spend turns 1-3 digging for an out) while you clock them.
It's not FoN but I don't think it's trash. This is way better than dictate of Heliod because it can come down early to shorten a clock or you can sandbag it and develop your board and then hardcast it. Options are always better.
If they swing in to you thinking they will force a bunch of trades, flashing this in let's you block profitably and then swing back for more on the next turn with Mana open.
So it's a glorified ACC Glorious Anthem. Ok. It might have some combat trick applications but outside of maybe casual or EDH, I don't see much competitive play. Then again we have been wrong before.
Edt: If it had granted protection or temporary hexproof until end of turn once entering the battlefield then I think it would've been a hit. Oh well, basic is what basic does.
I think its hidden value is its ability to put WW on the board for free. Between this and Leyline of Sanctity, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx can start ramping that much faster. I'm not sure this gives White Devotion enough of a boost, but it's something, especially since Nykthos could hit 6 white on turn 3 with this, Leyline, and any WW 2-drop like Runed Halo or something.
Just because an anthem with flash was printed once before doesn't mean WotC should never print any flash anthems ever again.
And I hope you realize how silly it is to say it's bad that it's like a preexisting card, only to immediately then say it should be like preexisting cards.
Garbage especially since the cost reduction on your opponents turn. Which means since anger of the gods aint exactly in favor right now. It makes no difference since terminus, various 4 CMC Wraths and Ugin could not care less about the toughness of your creatures. I mean if you want to give something for token decks how about indestructible on an instant.

If it's not your turn, you may exile a white card from your hand instead of paying this card's mana cost.
Flash.

I would have at least expected the white one to create like 3 1/1 tokens or a single 4/4 angel.
UBRJeleva, Nephalias Scourge: ...and the storm arrivedRBU
BGHapatra, Vizier of PoisonsGB
WAvacyn, Angel of Hope: Avy, Baby!W
This one could be a path variant but then this cycle would be pure cashgrab.
On this one idk if people will like it, being a pitch spell gives an advantage over dictate of heliod but the later isn’t played
