Ayula is basically the King of Skull Servants of Magic and I love it for that. I am a sucker for making infamously weak cards scary. Now let's hope those portal bear variants get reprints soon. I'd hate to see the price of Forest Bear after this.
First snow permanents, now Splice and possible Ninjutsu. It's exciting, but really killing my hope for Standard snow-based and Return To Kamigawa sets.
Don't count it out yet. There's a bunch of cycling and cycle support cards in MH and we only had a cycling heavy set last standard. Besides the target market for standard and this are likely quite different. This is more expensive and targeting the longer term players who are invested in modern, legacy, edh and such. So no reason to think they wouldn't still have a snow set coming up or a set featuring mechanics and themes that are in MH for that matter.
When it came time to enable Ninjas in Modern Horizons, I went back to Tormented Soul as an example of a simple creature we could change by giving it the changeling keyword.
time to enable Ninjas in Modern Horizons
Do I dare to believe?..
That would be awesome. Ninjitsu is just about the only keyword they haven't put in this set so far hehe.

Additionally, if the snow is recieved well here, it can increase its chances in standard, although we are talking about 2+ years in the future in that case.
Bear-Lord is frickin’ sweet. While true, not many playable bears for an EDH deck, but, she does have enough support for a mono-G enchantress build. Bearscape and the the newly spoiled bear assault are enchantments, and Words of Wilding could have combo implications.
These are my favorite legends, requiring a bit of out-of-the-box thinking to pull off.
As for Modern, I think she could see play there if changelings take off. I dunno, not a hardcore modern player.
I know peeps are complaining about the lack of modern playables, but it seems they are looking for cards to slot into existing decks. Maybe this set spawns different archetypes rather than improve existing ones. It’ll take a bit of brewing to really find out, so those complaining, I’d say put your thinking caps on.
1. Sees the amazingly pushed bear lord.
2. Smiles with stars in the eyes.
3. Checks bears in Magic.
4. Sulks.
5. Checks all bears, bear tokens and changelings available in Modern.
6. Cries very hard.

Guys got a big problem. I'm from Italy, and apparently I'm literally forced to see the italian website of WotC even if I don't want to (each time I get redirected), can somebody link me please the original article of what are these spoilers referring to? thank you.
The changes to the splice rules are huge. HUGE. Long overdue and makes me very excited.
Where did you see these changes? I didn't see them in the preview article.
I think they mean the change to “splice on instant or sorcery.” Makes it much easier to use than “splice on arcane.” I don’t think the splice rule changed, just this card uses a slight variation.
although we are talking about 2+ years in the future in that case.
Since we are very likely visiting a norse-inspired setting in october, I would count on seeing snow soon.
Yeah, I was talking about potential influence of the snow here. Whether or not snow appears in October is probably already set and its reception here won't change it.

I wouldn't say it's very likely, considering it's all spec solely based on the idea that we're visiting a new world and "Something I've wanted to do for years" (Rosewater). Other than those two things, we have no evidence what it is at all.
Would be great if it has more snow stuff, but after all this, I'm not too sure it will.
I am so making a Bear commander deck and naming it "Bear Necessities". That card is amazing. The others are pretty fun as well, splice onto instant or sorcery indeed.
This Basically confirms Graham Stark from LRR is actually playing "Bear force one" on the Modern Horizons episode of Game Knights

Hopefully a complete cycle or two of the splice stuff

No way. I thought it was terrible with that card.

Many thanks to DNC at Heroes of the Plane Studios

Take advantage of the fact that bears are cheap, keep spamming your bears to rack up counters.
This aint your girlfriends meta! This is a man's meta! TURBO META.
Throw in Alluren for infinete powered bears and boardwipes.

If they somehow made Aluren legal in modern, we could see a potentually competitive G bear deck -.-....
