It's funny, because that quote only talks about 'giving access to all ten pairs' with dual lands. Which we have. It doesn't specify all ten pairs getting cards of the same cycle in the same set.
Now, I know this doesn't mean anything now, with it being 2019, but he had changed his statements soon afterwards before the release of Dragons of Tarkir, saying that all 10 color pairs would be simply supported, rather than completing said cycles.
So your argument is to quote a source and then discredit its relevance? How does this help your case?
This upset a great many deal of players and collectors whom wanted the cycles completed for their decks and collections at the time. Many, including myself are still annoyed that WOTC continues to not listen to their player base and support all 10 colored pairs with complete cycles, and for whatever their reasons or excuses, continue to half-ass and leave out many other cycles that still need completion and/or representation.
How does this support the idea of doing 10 dual lands in one set? Your argument is, what, 'many players want this'? Many players want a lot of different things, it doesn't mean they're good for the game. That's not a good response to the developmental problems of having too many rare quality dual lands in standard.
I must apologize as I am typing this from my phone and this site has a difficult interface to use via Android. I'll attempt to respond the best that I can.
For your first point, The support with how 10-colored lands are utilized in sets/blocks is undermined when they keep only doing five of the duals, enemy or allied, at a time. I am not sure how you came to another conclusion other than cycles for dual lands not being completed in set/blocks, but I suppose we will have to agree to disagree there.
For the second point, I shared that link and made my statement in an attempt to show that not only is WOTC not listening to their fans and players, but change their minds frequently which causes confusion from previous stated promises and efforts made on their part.
For your third point, I had assumed we would be on the same page on parts of this, and the issue isn't what a lot of players want in regards to designs and such in the game, as that too is also a straw-man issue, but rather to appease the player base as they had not only promised, but were prepared to do in the past with 10-colored support. There is nothing that should have stopped them then, let alone now. R&D are still playtesting and removing kinks and trying to get it all figured out which doesn't take a genius. (That was not an insult at you, rather at the fact that many changes can still be made for the future for R&D where it seems many of their choices are idiotic)

Well, last we saw Theros, Ajani was spreading the truth about the gods as manifestations of belief (this is how Xenagos was able to become a god, after all) and telling people to stop believing in them, out of revenge for Heliod killing Elspeth. The temples have most likely been destroyed as a result of that.
The temples don't look destroyed. Also, Theros is very adherent to its pantheon, I highly doubt Ajani accomplished as much as he'd like to believe he did.
I do wish these had been the enemy cycle of the BFZ Tango-lands, or whatever we're calling them. I really wanted a UG one.
Eh, they're not necessarily destroyed, but they're in bad shape and most of them look dilapidated. For example, compare the new art on Temple of Mystery to the original art - the branches on the trees making up the center of the temple are completely bare. This is pretty much true for the other temples (Temple of Malady is overgrown with vines and the cauldron is cracked, etc.), but Temple of Triumph looks just as, if not more impressive than before.
They're not in bad shape. Temple of Mystery is making the two olive trees look like Kruphix's hands (the artist was too literal with it). It's a cool piece though. Malady has large serpents coiling around it, and the cauldron looks exactly like Pharika's, with the opening (not crack) for pouring medicine or poison.
wouldn't you not want a tapland though...even with the scry...I dunno

A little nitpick: if you look at Pharika's art https://www.mtgpics.com/pics/art/jou/154.jpg
the caldroun is actually chipped at the top with cracks going from there through its surface. I wouldn't call it an opening for pouring... Not an intended one, at least.
cool i guess? these never did much for me. funny story, i actually recently discovered i have playsets of all of them. they were in a binder under some other binders, shows how often i've needed to use these.
Interesting take. These are quite darker than their previous forms.
Temple of Mystery is reminiscent of the original (not the Clash Pack) version - but it looks like the "hands" are all that remained from the two huge trees.

well, in this case this is a partial reprint (just like checklands were split between XLN and DOM) not an incomplete cycle (like tango and bicycle).
It's still possible that they will reprint the second half this fall (if the running theory of Kaldheim/norse plane is true we can have temples for the Norse Gods)

If you're expecting a cycle of ten lands of the same calibre then that's a bit off. We haven't had something like that since what...tenthedition (painlands)?
It's possible but is it really worth it? That's what we have to ask ourselves.

Everytime I see posts like this I'm reminded of the truth that Wizards has noted time and time again that giving the players everything they want isn't always a good idea. Mostly because too many of us don't actually know what we want and whine incessantly. Sometimes incomplete cycles are necessary. The fact it chafes some players is understandable but a necessary sacrifice.
Have you played with these lands the last time? They looked underwhelming then too, but they were great - and they will be great in Standard again and I like them much more than the BFZ or Shadow lands we got. They could have done something new, but Standard is more important for WotC as other reasons players wants - and they are right - if Standard is bad, the game has a Problem.
And one thing, most people don't think about: most times there are 2 rare Duals per color combination in Standard (few exceptions like last rotation). So this is more for rotation and we get an ally cycle with Archery - maybe the other temples, maybe not. This way we will constantly have enough duals after rotation. What that means for a return to Theros? No clue...

Not off at all. It is a falicy in understanding why it is only 5 lands from a cycle, even from the perspective of R&D. It makes sense that players like consistency and like to complete parts of their collections.
I have noticed as well and been meaning to ask, why do you say "buster" in your posts? I have always been curious.

Who ever said etb tapped meant uncommon or common?
They aren't the best dual lands, but that doesn't mean they aren't suitable for rare.

Not sure why no one has brought this up yet, but the actual reason we don't get full 10-card dual land cycles is that Wizards only wants 20 dual lands at most in Standard.
