I think all the discussion about colors might be a waste of time
As we've seen in Modern Horizon and other past products. Reprinting mechanics gives opportunities to move them to other colors. Like Exalted in M13 or miracle in Commander 2018 both moving to black; or dredge moving to red in Modern Horizon.
If anything I feel like we will see these mechanics explore colors outside their traditional homes.
They need to stick in colors where the mechanic is at least present or supported. It is a little different from booster-Products because they have actually build a deck with at least some cards. In addition in commander color identity is key. If they print a Black, Blue and Red populate commander, than you can't play the token support cards or other populate cards. That cards would be wasted. A commander product deck has only ~17 new card slots. And only about 10 of the slot can be used for the mechanic because of card that are in all decks and the variants of different commander options they want to include in each commander product. They can include a color to established color combinations but they won't go crazy.
At first I wondered who was asking for the Theros mechanics, and then I saw your name.
Flashback is sort of like reverse bestow for your instant and sorcery spells, though I think Morph would more likely resonate with you as it can be a little bit like constellation and a lot like monstrosity.
The first morphs were brought on by the power of the Mirari as it warped the world around itself. Madness stemmed from Chainer, a member of the Cabal, having hold of the Mirari.
Flashback was also in the Mirari sets, so really the odd one out is Populate, as the goes to not only outside Otaria, but outside of the plane of Dominaria to Ravnica fo the Selesnya guild.
With three of the four decks coming from the same time period/story arc, hopefully there are some juicy tidbits of births sprinkled in like what we got for the tribal decks or Lord Windgrace, whom I was hoping would show up since commander 2014 was said to have the first planeswalker commanders.

A colorless, pre-PW Ugin be a precon leader for morph and eldrazi would be cute.
as long as it's not another broken ugin planeswalker I'm ok with that.
I doubt it, since being a colorless "commander" itself is already a restriction, though it would of course have a lot to do with what goes into that deck. I don't mind seeing cards that buff colorless spells/permanents.
New Ugin might have opposite mechanic compare to Nicol Bolas, the Ravager? When it enters the play it manifest the top card, and it goes to your hand similar to how Ineffable works. Pay 7 to transform, etc.

Ugin is centered in colorless mana, although he can use all 5 colors of mana
So can Bolas, and Bolas is UBR in his cardboard form. Despite Ugin's true power, he is most fitting as a colorless legend, with abilities that benefits only colorless spells/permanents. Colorless EDH is the least supported EDH thematic wise compare to other colors, even mono-color has been getting some love, but very few cards that specifically support colorlessness (Relatively speaking). While Ugin could be another colorless/5-c hybrid, it's much more flavorful if he could focus entirely on colorlessness.
OR, perhaps Ugin could be a colorless/5-c commander with Devoid mechanic that turns him colorless, while having mechanics that helps colorless and/or morph/manifest, that'd expand his options a lot.

You know the second part answers it
Besides casting morph/manifest is colorless
As long as cleverly done. I’m not fond of straightforward, all-plus-no-minus design.
It could be... a chroma mechanic that counts the “number” part of the mana cost???
Because it taxes already limited resources that they could be investing in formats that people actually give a damn about?
That said I'm not really mad about it. Just a waste, I think.
Like Commander? Like the format that these Brawl-specific cards probably straight slot into? I don't see how printing more Commander-specific cards in Standard and justifying it by supporting a hybrid-format is going to be a waste considering the popularity of Commander.

[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
It'll be interesting to see the six shared uncommons. As a reminder, each uncommon appears in two of the four decks, and each deck gets three. Thus, each of the six appears in a unique pair of decks. For this cycle, we'll have:
Not saying the uncommons will use keywords themselves, but they'll be designed to play well with both decks. For example, a looting or rummaging effect plays well with both Flashback and Madness, as you can discard a card with Flashback and still get to cast it later, or discard a card with Madness and cast it for its Madness cost. That said, this would be one of those rare opportunities to design cards that mix keywords, so if they can swing it, great.
Rearranging the list to project my expected deck colors:
W Morph & Populate - I can picture a white Morpher that creates a token when it's turned face up. It may not use Populate per se, but Populate most certainly can use the token. Maybe an Angel that creates an Angel token?
U Flashback & Morph - Blue is the most likely color to appear in both decks. Thus, it's also the color most likely to get the overlap between them. If this card is a Flashback spell, most likely it uses Manifest rather than Morph.
B Madness & Morph - By process of elimination, these are the two decks most likely to have black in them. Madness and Morph don't really work as a combo themselves, so I'm guessing this would be another spell that swaps Morph out for Manifest.
R Flashback & Madness - Since blue is likely the Flashback-Morph overlap, red makes the most sense as the Flashback-Madness overlap. This is a combo that works really well, as you can discard the spell, cast it for its Madness cost, then recast it later for its Flashback cost.
G Flashback & Populate - Green has gotten token-making Flashback spells before. So, a green spell with both Flashback and Populate seems perfectly feasible.
C Madness & Populate - Here's the trickiest one. It's quite possible that Madness and Populate won't share any colors, in which case the only possible overlap is a colorless card. I would expect some kind of artifact or land that uses both discard and tokens, but it could be something absolutely crazy like a colorless Eldrazi-flavored spell with a colorless Madness cost that creates an Eldrazi token, then populates.
In this cycle I proposed, White's the only color to get a creature, as the other overlaps are all instants or sorceries. At this point I feel like the whole cycle could or should be spells, but the Morph Angel sounds super cool. On the other hand, a Morph card really only works well in a dedicated Morph deck, so maybe the Morph parts of the cycle are all spells that use Manifest instead? At least then the opponent won't know which card has been Manifested.
I'll take a swing at this cycle in Custom Card Creation.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Hopefully a new multi-colored version of Ixidor. I really wouldn't mind if its just the same as Ixidor, Reality Sculptor version but its got extra colors.

Even though there’s still a chance is fake we will find out in 4 days what colors they are
Oh temur has the higher odds since rattleclaw mystic is temur and that it literally gives mana of one of the three colors and also gives mana when flipped over
If this is real , I can see WBG for the Populate deck. The addition of Black lets you use your tokens as sacrifices to do stuff and also gives you big beefy demon tokens to play with too.
I don't know man. I played a Trostani, Selesnya's Voice deck before and with Populate you usually want the beefy big sized tokens first and go wide after. So sacrifice the tokens is kind of a setback. I think red can contribute more by just add some haste to your tokens. The 5/5 flying demon tokens would be fine, though.

Yes, I'm pretty sure WotC will avoid repetitiveness, and EDH players like myself would likely pick up the Brawl precons as well. Players, especially EDH players, want fresh ideas regularly, repeating color pairing would not be favored.

Token saccing would probably be "sac smaller tokens to make bigger tokens" e.g. Bloodsoaked Altar or Ghoulcaller Gisa, stuff like that. There's some creature that lets you sac things to make demons, I think? I don't remember. And if not, why, exactly?
Alternately, the C14 Ob Nixilis, if getting his emblem isn't a huge imposition, because even dumping your crappy tokens is a cool thing to have for that.

Yes but in standard sets don’t disqualify the color combination
Arcades is bant and we got a bant deck
Besides there might be one loop hole if this works but maybe a colorless legend with “you can play with colored cards”
But I really doubt that’s even possible

He would get the same treatment as
For this case his morph cost will probably be something like 3WUBRG
And have a ability to manifest the top card and maybe a static ability that can make mana tap for rainbow as long as it’s for flipping a card face-up
So can Bolas, and Bolas is UBR in his cardboard form. Despite Ugin's true power, he is most fitting as a colorless legend, with abilities that benefits only colorless spells/permanents.

Like Commander? Like the format that these Brawl-specific cards probably straight slot into? I don't see how printing more Commander-specific cards in Standard and justifying it by supporting a hybrid-format is going to be a waste considering the popularity of Commander.
Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."

Remind green is a absolute lock as one of the colors for morph deck as well simic is the two best colors in morph
I’ve wanted some Ixidor love ever since I read the novels for that block and then realized his card was kinda bad.
Yeah I think the Morph deck MUST be at the very least blue and green. The question is do they go Temur, sultai, or just 5 color?

I doubt it'd be 5 colors, consider how many legends they just printed with 5-c. I like Temur better than Sultai, though that's also because Sultai legends lately haven't been too creative.

Even though there’s still a chance is fake we will find out in 4 days what colors they are
Oh temur has the higher odds since rattleclaw mystic is temur and that it literally gives mana of one of the three colors and also gives mana when flipped over
true but that doesn't mean we wont i mean i got to understand they are the ones making the call of what colors the decks are gonna be
i mean bant is not happening due to last year but mostly due to the fact one of the brawl decks is that color combo
Yes, I'm pretty sure WotC will avoid repetitiveness, and EDH players like myself would likely pick up the Brawl precons as well. Players, especially EDH players, want fresh ideas regularly, repeating color pairing would not be favored.
