While speculating on "colors" of the precons, do you guys think WptC might print colorless support for these mechanics, similar to them printing colorless support for tribal/mono color decks?
I hope Populate somehow integrates black. Black tokens are neat and this is an opportunity to go outside Selesnya colors. Red or blue could be cool too, but regular Selesnya tokens should be playable with the deck and four colors is too much.
If populate expands into any new colors, I expect blue to be first on the list. It is a copy mechanic, after all. While black can do some really interesting things with tokens, there are more flavorful and mechanically appropriate avenues than populate.
I would be fine with blue. Infact my favorite decks are those that do off the cuff funtime stuff, like Wort, the Raidmother RG spellslinging (token > ramp > Primal Bellow combat damage for 52); blue tokens would be amazing.
Also, if they could reprint Wheel of fortune for the madness deck that would be awesome.
Nope, not gonna happen.
Reserve list.

11:15, restate my assumptions: 1. Mathematics is the language of nature. 2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. 3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature. - Maximillian Cohen.
Populate - Bant WUG - Possibly with a Wolf and Bird subtheme. Those have been fairly common creature token cards in the last few sets. They also have the potential of reprinting Fable of Wolf and Owl which is a Blue Green card that makes both Wolf and Bird tokens.
Madness - Rakdos BR - I always felt Blue Green Madness or Innistrad madness was very orientated to aggro one on one games. So I will wait to see how they implement it for multiplayer games.
Morph - Temur RUG - Animar reprint in sub-commander?
Morph has always been awful, why a deck dedicated to it?
Don't you think that's precisely why they want to create precons to empower it? Don't forget recently we got Aminatou precon with morph and manifest cards too, such as Primordial Mist.

I never was a fan of Morph, and for that matter, transform cards, just because I would rather be playing my cards face up instead of playing this silly game of "What do you think this might be?" I'll never play morph cards unless there's an inherent mana advantage to do so. With that said, I hope they give us some sort of artifact that reads something like:
Ugin's Talisman - 4
Rare
Face down creature spells you cast cost 2 less to cast.
Morph, Megamorph and Manifest costs of face down creatures you control are reduced by 2.
Whenever you turn a card face-up, put a charge counter on ~.
Face-down creature spells you cast cost [mana]1[mana] less to cast
Morph cost you pay are reduced by [mana]1[mana] for each charge counter on ~.
------
Though it's still more fun if it's more than cost reduction. Something like:
Hellbent Rock
2
Artifact
Hellbent - 0: As long as you have no cards in hand, you may exile target face down creature. Until end of turn, you may play the card.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have no cards in hand, manifest the top card of your library.
I so hope this is true and wish morph either be Bant or blackless. White does so much more for morph than red does IMO that why I built Thrassios / Sidar Kondo morph instead of animar.
I believe that double sided cards are problematic in supplemental products. I can remember that Maro had written something about this in his blog. So i don't think that the chances are high for them. I hope that they don't repeat the same color combination of 2017 and 2018 Commander products. So
This leave Jeskai, Sultai, Temur, Abzan and Naya as possible 3 Color combination. I think we will face 3 3-color Decks and 1 2-color Deck. Madness fits best for Raknos and this fit with Maros flavor-hint cinnamon.
Populate was a Selesnya mechanic so the color should be at least WG -> Naya or Abzan
Flashback is present in all colors. If we look at the distribution, we can see that Temur has the most flashback cards. Jeskai could be vailable, too. Blue and Red should be there because of the highest spellslinger support and self mill potential. If they want to go the full self mill strategy than they could go for Sultai, too.
Well Morph is another mechanic that is present in all colors. If we look just at the distribution for morph: Blue highest, second place Green than Red. Temur would permit that you can play Animar in the deck, too.
Given the MARO flavor clues, and the removal of the sentences about themes, I'm assuming this is true. Hyped for madness commander, since Feather enabled weird pump spell plays I'm hoping they explore similar unique design space for this legend, and I hope they are RB.
I think it's also safe to say that Madness (Cinnamon) is RB, and that Populate (Peppermint) makes the most sense as GW. One of the other decks must contain blue. Flashback would be a shoo-in as at least UB, since teachings is a fairly iconic spell and a useful reprint for pauper. In that case, with U, G and W represented the least, Morph could be that.
This is obviously based on a lot of assumptions, and I know they don't distribute colours equally anymore, so here's my alternate theory: the Morph deck has a colorless/5c commander, ala Morophon and Golos. This would allow ALL morph spells to be included, and there is a lot of design space left for these types of commanders IMO. explicit Morph tribal is one thing, but it could also be color fixing for morph spells, reduced morph costs, reduced flip costs, buffs to facedown creatures, manifest opportunities, etc etc. There are some decent designs in this thread even.
Note that the widespread desire for plane-based flavor is not off the table yet either. I think of Madness and Flashback as "iconically" Innistrad, Morph is pretty "iconically" Tarkir. There is still room for that sort of thing as well.

I need to bare this in mind that means it would have to be a 5-color deckmlike the dragons because Ramos, Dragon Engine pretty much is exactly like your describing for the 5-color legend loophole and Ramos was a one of the foil commander which means main commanders
Oh and you and I both for the flavor theory
I think red or black will be splashed in the populate theme by the way because both of those colors can really make a bang in token decks since populate focuses on token creatures
And noticing the comments I would love pre-spark ugin to be the face commander for the morph deck only problem is ugin would have to get the same treatment as the card Karn, Silver Golem which is basicly mean not a flip walker card
Flashback honestly this could be WURBG or UBRG (white had least but only just) because you pretty much have flashback in all colors and pretty even amount out of each color and it will be a real slap in the face if Catalyst Stone doesn't get reprinted in this
Well get ready for a slap in the face because WotC always does that.

That’s true lol
I guess since the legit level got a little high from the removal of the text of the themes and chosen abilities better removed from the site
Poet get a catalyst stone for stock speculation purposes lol
I wonder whether the morph deck will be really just morph or treat us with manifest in equal parts as well.
I wonder whether the colors will be chosen to allow reprints of Dralnu, red Akroma and Trostani. At least two of them work just nicely in decks heavily featuring the mechanic.
Exciting theme. I feel this should serve as incentive for everyone, because these mechanics are very different from each other.

Don't you think that's precisely why they want to create precons to empower it? Don't forget recently we got Aminatou precon with morph and manifest cards too, such as Primordial Mist.
Animar Morph is quite fun to play.
Bad example, Aminatou is a busted card on its own . The mechanic will always be way too slow and jank.

again thats what precons do they give the missing pieces of the puzzle to make it extrodnary
like reducing the morph cost or things to cheat the morph cost like my first example and stuff to puff face down cratures
or maybe like what animar does make the enter face down cost to reduce to 0 later down the line
and i got some real examples of powerhouse morph cards
Examples are:
Dream Chisel, Catalyst Stone
Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest WUR Voltron Control
Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun WU Unblockable Mirror Trickery
Ra's al Ghul (Sidar Kondo) and Face-Down Ninjas
Brudiclad, Token Engineer
Vaevictis (VV2) the Dire Lantern
Rona, Disciple of Gix
Tiana the Auror
Hallar
Ulrich the Politician
Zur the Rebel
Scorpion, Locust, Scarab, Egyptian Gods
O-Kagachi, Mathas, Mairsil
"Non-Tribal" Tribal Generals, Eggs
I would be fine with blue. Infact my favorite decks are those that do off the cuff funtime stuff, like Wort, the Raidmother RG spellslinging (token > ramp > Primal Bellow combat damage for 52); blue tokens would be amazing.

We got bant last year
Abzan or naya is probably what we want to look at
Besides naya would be way better for wolf tribal since there are no white wolves whatsoever
Hey maybe a 4 or 5-color will be even better that would create 5-color tokens
Ugin's Talisman - 4
Rare
Face down creature spells you cast cost 2 less to cast.
Morph, Megamorph and Manifest costs of face down creatures you control are reduced by 2.
And mat-selesnya as the populate one.
Morph Storm Amulet

Pre-PW Ugin is definitely a great idea.
If it's removed, I guess there's some merit to it.

Some others coincidentally have Morph like Deathmist Raptor.
WUBDakkon, a Tribute
BChainer, the demonlord!
RWAurelia
WBKarlov of the Ghost Council
Commander 2018
Bant (Adaptive Enchantment)
Esper (Subjective Reality)
Jund (Nature's Vengeance)
Izzet (Exquisite Invention)
Should definitely be out of question and the 4 of 2017 should be a lot less likely:
Commander 2017
Grixis (Arcane Wizardry)
Mardu (Vampiric Bloodlust)
Selesnya (Feline Ferocity)
WUBRG (Draconic Domination)
