Nice card but Cry of the Carnarium is better in my eyes since it exiles the creatures and ones that would die this turn even though it’s 1 less reduction

I don't think the two have so much in common, this is closer to a targeted removal with the benefit of acting as a tribal hoser.
This is good. I feel like I might have a playable MBC this Standard. I ALMOST love this art. The person in the back is off somehow. Looks like his hands are attached to his elbows.
What we need to do to determine if this is powerful is think about what decks share multiple creature types with toughness 3 or less...
Even against non-tribal decks you might be able to net a 2 for 1 with this card, which makes it viable in my opinion.
I agree. We'll have to see about creature-type density in ELD, but in Standard right now, many creatures are incidentally Humans, Elves, or Elementals.
Soo...how's that prospective Knight deck coming along by the way? We'll be seeing this card in the upcoming Standard for sure, in most aggro decks you're bound to have two creatures that share a type, even if the deck isn't necessarily tribal Ghitu Lavarunner and Viashino Pyromancer as example, so this card has a high chance of netting you a 2-for-1 at least, and that's considering MB viability, if any viable tribal deck(s) show up in the upcoming format, this card has guaranteed spots in every Black sideboard.
I don't understand why they went with the Warlock creature type "because witch is a name for members of a current real-world religion" (per blogatog) but continue to put "witch" in the card names.

I think the fact that Warlock is a D&D class probably helped push it that way too. Same company and all.

I suppose the other question is what the role is for a new type here, given that the game's previous witches are mostly wizards and shamans, with the occasional spellshaper or cleric as flavor dictates.

Not every descriptive term used in card names needs to be a creature type. Leonin are a thing even though their creature type is 'cat'. Traveling Philosopher exists, but there's no 'philosopher' creature type.

Creatures of the creature type of your choice get -3/-3 until end of turn.

Most tribes with decks (humans, spirits, goblins, elves, etc) tend to have small butts.
I will be seeing this card in the future, I think.
