Answer: Constructed plant. Not saying its an appropriate use of 'mythic', but that card is stupid good. It ranks with Murderous Rider and the red giant as guaranteed format staples. Bouncing your anything on two and then having that same card to cast for pressure on three is a ridiculous tempo play. This is exactly what the flash deck needed. And we're not even gonna talk about picking up walkers and such without being down a card. Just crazy good.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a good card. Just feels like it should have been a rare not a mythic.
The reason for "Why is this Mythic" is to put some final nails in MaRo's exhausted credibility.
This is an awesome tournament staple card. Not flashy. Efficient. Necessary. 4-of. And Mythic. Exactly what MaRo said Mythics wouldn't be back when they were invented.
This is pushed in basically all formats. I reminds me of Vclique a lot, even outside of the superficialities of the p/t and casting cost. This is literally the faerie players were waiting for when they started speculating on faeries when the set was announced. It is better than just its tribe mind you, but it works very well alongside spellstutter sprite as well.
i'm not really a fan of its name. what's it borrowing? the name implies theft not bounce.
as for it being mythic... it doesn't feel mythic at all. it feels like a card that someone said omg this needs to be mythic because it MIGHT be bounced and recast, alternatively someone else said this needs to be mythic because it stands out as a good card in a sea of bad ones and we need a lotto card to sell this set.
It's mythic because it's dream eater for one less mana.
I feel like a lot of these "why is this mythic" complaints are just because the text boxes are relatively small and can't fit in a lot of abilities. If the card read "1U, exile this card: return target permanent an opponent controls to their hand. You may then cast this card from exile." or something then folks would be complaining less.

Dream Eater is a terrible comparison. This has a substantially worse body and gives you no card selection. No one thinks that if they had just wrote the Adventure text out they’d feel differently about its rightful rarity.

I mean, if you think dream eater is a mythic then that just says it there, doesn't it? That card is only mythic because it has 4 abilities slapped on, no matter how generic.
Why is this card good? its an instant bounce-spell on a bad surprise blocker...
Yes you can play the first half and then the second half any time you like, ut still both halves seem pretty underwhelming to me. Yes with bounce it becomes a buyback disperse but if you want the creature half to actually surprise-kill an attacking flyer, you wouldn´t be able to reuse it by bouncing right.
but yea maybe its package is all you neeed to slow down your opponent, but still im a bit confused about its rarity... this would have been an awesome uncommon, but rare or even mythik idk...
I missed the part with Flash, I was just disappointed with the "your opponent controls" part.
I guess it's OK as a defensive combat trick or to get a Planeswalker off the board but not much else. I would happily pay an extra or all blue if I could target any nonland permanent OR target my opponents lands as well.
It's a good card, but it's definitely a rare. I mean looking at Murderous Rider, I see this card as a rare. I'm really interested as to their decision on making this a mythic.

...What? You definitely don't want to use this card as a "surprise blocker". You want to use this as a 3-power evasive threat that happens to be also attached to a cheap, unrestricted bounce spell.

He didn’t say that Mythic can’t be that. He said it wouldn’t be the only place for it. You should actually cite where he says otherwise so you can double check his wording.
Mythic rarity is going to cause a lot of complaints for this card in the next few rotations of standard because this thing is probably going to see high play in numerous decks until it rotates out, and a price point that keeps increasing. Its just way too efficient. In one weird way, its a lot like a blink of an eye... with kicker 0. Except the card it draws you is always a 3/1 flash cloud-flying. And like everyone already realized, this is the same reason threeferi was busted, you don't need to be an aggro tempo archetype to take advantage of that kind of pushed tempo advantage, its just good in any shell. Whether its just a threat that an opponent has to deal with or die to and thus trade a card in, or killing a planeswalker, or trading with a flyer (or just daring them to attack you), its hard to argue that "draw a brazen borrower for 0" is worse than "draw a card for 2".
Ladies and gentlemen present to you the most “why is this a mythic” mythic ever.

ok, super playable card.
a fine bounce plus a decent beater.
but.... mythic? really.
man, I hate this set... IMO, the worst set since Amonkhet, lol.

a) should NOT have been a mythic
b) SHOULD have been a Threaten or Control Magic effect like the name implies.
Don't get me wrong, the card is good, the flavor is just off.

Yeah the name and the effect are massively incongruous. I wonder if he did not originally steal artifacts for a turn.

so I can kind of see why they played it safe.
It’s still a little disappointing.
