So, let's see. Saga's are back. 'Escape' is a new mechanic that allows for the casting of spells from the graveyard. I suspect most of them will have an 'exile X cards from the graveyard' cost to reduce the possibility for eternally recurring stuff. "heroes of the revel" and "hero of the nyxborn" basically have heroic, but because it's not keyworded, its probably only on a couple of cards. Lastly, the "omens" are probably a 5 card cycle.
That's about all I can figure from a quick glance at these cards so far.
edit: oops, I completely missed the mention of devotion
Elspeth looks good but not as good as other recent walkers.
The return of Sagas is nice, and one have medomai
That Ashiok enchantment is good. Having it in main board will make people use enchantment removal after sideboarding.
Underworld dreams at uncommon wow (sad i didn't sold my copies)
Interesting thing we learn here: Phenax used to be mortal, died, then escaped from the Underworld. It does make sense, though, since it does kinda look like he's wearing a mask (as a god)--the sign of a Returned.
On another note, Ilysia is so blatantly Elysium respelled that it hurts my eyes.
Elspeth looks not bad. Kinda like a universal card for control, or midrange. But even aggro likes the first ability. If only it added some evasion, or something extra. -2 is too fair in a world with Eldraine Planeswalker-Powa-Level.
But still useful. -3 is weak af, but adds to her universal usability & i prefer available abilities over ultimates anyway.
Now to the most interesting thing: She can fairly easily be played from graveyard later in a game. More than once even.
Hard to evaluate, but i guess many she offers many Decks what they want to be desired.
This needs to be playtested 4 sure
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
So we've finally gone full pokemon with the lands.
Ill stick to my ones with words on them
About 1-2 years ago when I was going through my quest to foil out all of my decks, I was having a problem getting the exact lands I wanted. I got a few where I liked the art, and a few that were thematic to the deck, but I remember looking at the possibility of buying some that I found that were, more or less, just the mana symbol. There was some other art behind them (like these), but I really did want to have lands with just the mana symbol as I thought they would look pretty cool and unique. They were essentially proxies though and it felt weird to proxy lands so I never did it.
I am pretty excited to see them now as an actual card. I am hoping that these are all the lands in the set and not just a 1 out of 4 packs type of thing since I want to pick up a bunch of foils. I might seriously consider changing all of my decks to these lands if they aren't exorbitantly expensive. And, of course, assuming they are real
I'm a big fan of those lands and that Ashiok enchantment has the O-Ring loophole in it, which I am most certainly a fan of.
I like the Escape mechanic and especially on that spider, a 1/2 that shoots something down then comes back later to do it to something larger is great.
I can't understand if that Elspeth is strong or weak.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
So, that Elspeth being 255 isn't part of the set. So she is the much weaker planeswalker deck version? It seems rather pushed for a weaker version. Or is the first extra number the Buy a Box promo?

Alt borders are numbered like that. This is the regular in-set PW.

I can't understand if that Elspeth is strong or weak.
Compared to the war and eldraine walkers she's quite weak, her return ability may prove useful but while she's in play she doesn't do much.
Honestly the weird thing is her -3. It's so weak. Why they even put that?
The other abilities are strong. With -2 she can protect herself and for a simple -1 she give 4 more damage to your board.
What is weird also is that the escape ability doesn't give her more starting loyalty. I wonder if they avoided that design for power level reason.
She surely look more tame than Oko, i wonder if they have emergency nerfed her.

Kinda funny how during the wrap-up of the War of the Spark arc they were so tight-lipped and extra careful about letting product leaks slip and now that it's over it seems to happen a bit more loosely this time around. Hmm...I agree with someone further up. This smells like a plant.

Oh My Erebos, this looks to be my new favorite set!!! I absolutely loved Theros in our first visit, even if the actual sets weren't up to snuff. I like the design space they are using for Ashiok's Erasure and Treacherous Blessing. The new maze is coo, glad they used Theros to riff Maze of Ith. The legendary creatures look ok for now, def glad to see UR get an artifact commander that focuses on equipment than generic good stuff. I like that sagas are returning, some with more than 3 chapters too! The Omen cycle is a nice call back to both the Dictates and Fonts.
And I absolutely love the Nyx inspired full art lands. I was always a fan of the enchantment borders for the enchantment creatures and just love how the lands look with that style applied. I need just about as many of the swamps as WotC can print, including a playmat of it.
This set looks to be fun. I like the non-heroic heroic cards and like Escape so far, especially since we know that things can get better when they Escape (counters or prob new etb triggers). And looking forward to seeing how Devotion pans out, I secretly hope for MonoBlack to come back, but am open to other colors getting to show off.
Apparently someone found booster packs of Theros: Beyond Death at a Walgreens. Looks legit! Love the lands.

Rest of the commons from the leak
At least the set looks fantastic.
Older Magic as a Board Game: Panglacial Wurm , Mill
Why do people have to leak this early? Like, do they really enjoy the power to violate merchandise?
Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest WUR Voltron Control
Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun WU Unblockable Mirror Trickery
Ra's al Ghul (Sidar Kondo) and Face-Down Ninjas
Brudiclad, Token Engineer
Vaevictis (VV2) the Dire Lantern
Rona, Disciple of Gix
Tiana the Auror
Hallar
Ulrich the Politician
Zur the Rebel
Scorpion, Locust, Scarab, Egyptian Gods
O-Kagachi, Mathas, Mairsil
"Non-Tribal" Tribal Generals, Eggs
That's about all I can figure from a quick glance at these cards so far.

Pff, dude 'pulled' all five Energy lands and a full-art Elspeth. Either they were filched from higher up the supply chain or it's a WotC plant.

Just simple reprints of the first 5? I pretty sure there’s new ones
And to eventually find out of the rumor is true about a 5-color god
