I did not expect that effect for Daxos. I wish it was his power that had been variable. Would have made interesting implications for commander. Still, I want his new card. Pretty neat.
It is really amazing that demigod is a type now. That must make Callaphe and Petros demigods as well. Which makes sense. I’m surprised it fit on the type line though
The actions of Klothys may have lead to the conversion. It’s possible Heliod resorted to such tactics, and facing Daxos was inspiration enough for elspeth to move on. She needs a reason to planeswalk away And leave the plane to show up on other worlds, heartbreak is a good reason to depart Theros. Although seeing elspeth settle on Theros and be associated with every visit there isn’t something I would mind at all
it would romantic to have her periodically visit her demigod lover on Theros though
Hmmm I wonder what demigod will mean. They already said the Theros gods don't have child with mortals so somehow a mini Xenagos effect where a mortal gains some divinity?

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
so, the Hero just has heroic, but they didn't call it that for some reason?
Because Heroic is not a mechanic in the set, it's just a subtheme (this is not the only unnamed heroic card we've seen if you didn't know). Standard procedure is to not actually include any non-evergreen mechanics unless they are specifically intended to be a featured mechanic of the set.
Clearly, there will be less of these unnamed heroic cards than there were heroic cards in Theros. They seem to be concentrated— if not confined entirely— to red and white, functioning as a limited archetype.
I feel that Memory Drain should have a mill effect. I know it's a common and doesn't matter, but I'm not seeing the scry when you make someone else lose their memory.
Daxos is pretty great on a Soul Sisters like deck.
a lot sturdier than your typical sister, gains good life, has a ton more toughness, which may make it evade plenty of removal.
Inevitable End looks fun but I'm not sure how good it is.
In this event, it's an alright card. It ends up being an easier to cast Murder on a one turn delay that gets around indestructible. Since this is a singleton deck, you really need it.
It can go bad if it backfires though. I did manage to put the screws to someone when they played it on my Harmonious Archon and I had The Circle of Loyalty in play. I just kept sacking knights until I drew the right cards to shrug off the enchantment and plop down 5 3/3 creatures in one go.
I imagine it would operate much the same in draft depending on the rest of the set.
I don't know if it would have as much impact in constructed. I can imagine a few decks where it could potentially be a nasty card. Can't say it will reach the same level as Fatal Push. Right now it doesn't feel like it.

Inevitable End is the new pseudo-Braids. That says a lot.
Ok, so with Daxos being a Demigod (and an uncommon one btw. Art is spectacular too), does that mean they're going to go back and errata cards like Demigod of Revenge et al from Shadowmoor? Hurray for more confusing creature type revisions...
Why didn't they just go and write it as Heroic rather than tease us with it?
PS: The artwork for this is spectacular. Even more than the original Theros block.

i mean, fair enough, but it just seems like if there's one set to bring back the keyword it would be the one with the plane it originally was on, but whatever, i suppose.
i was one the people that liked heroic lol.

I hope Heliod is not trying to send Daxos after his old lover, as a way to deal with Elspeth, though Heliod is not above such dirty tricks.

nice card all around.
most likely because it won´t be keyworded in this set.
pretty much like Tireless Tracker doesn't have "Landfall" on it.
