Maybe it's just because I don't know all the lore and whatnot, but seemed pretty underwhelming to me. Definitely liked the Eldraine trailer a lot more.
I just realized the horns on her new spear (and the smoke) looked familiar. I thought Xenagos but its more Ashiok horned looking. As a nightmare mage and the gods being nothing but dreams seems like Ashiok might be making their own version of godsend, which could work due to their magic.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Well Elspeth looking at her past self and them the close on Ashiok was good. It is interesting how the Returned(Theros' Zombies) go for the loss of identity soo easily in this trailer, even elspeth almost went for it. Wonder what her Eidolon would look like. Soo probably the Wanderer was Elspeth without her eidolon, but she could still planeswalk.
I was hoping this trailer would announce a novel or advertise the story on the mothership website. But nothing? Is this lore we've waited 6 years to resolve not even being addressed at all? How does Eldraine get a novel and Theros doesn't get anything?
I got bored when there was no more spoilers for the day. So I was like "What if I muted the Beyond Death Trailer but also played the War of the Spark trailer at the same time?"
Remember when she looked actually impressive ? (Elspeth Tirel)
Now shes a lot more generic, barely recognize her at all, not the grace of a "knight" , but just a random soldier.
I'm not sure what kind of poise or grace you can expect from someone in Hell as she marches along like all the dead do. This isn't Kratos during his weekly trip to Hell roaring at every single thing and climbing out, Elspeth has a history of not being very knightly, what with running away multiple times and all.
Is it just me or did it seem like Elspeth "Sparks" again near the end? That cute "jump" scare with the girl made me grin. Overall it didn't lend itself to any real story plot or lore reveal so meh. Eldraine and War offered more in terms of plot revelations than this.

Shows pretty much nothing.
Elspeth "barely" looks like her at all.

Its actually surprising how well it fits.
