While the idea of bear Krosan Cloudscraper is fun I'm not exactly seeing anything truly stand out, but with only one piece of art it would be difficult to do so, or it's my lack of sleep right now. I'm hoping for some truly strange creature type combinations to come out of this.
That;s funny because this morning I was contemplating on the Ikoria storyline after figuring out that THB and maybe Zendikar III was/will be merely to tie up loose story ends, and for some reason I thought Ikoria could be a place for Vivien to go considering Skalla is a wasteland now.

This makes me think that Ikoria could have been Belenon

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Really not impressed tbh, maybe they selected a bland art on purpose to not give away much so soon, but Photoshop a few hedrons around and this could just as easily be a pic of Zendikar. Hell, there's even a few scattered crystals that could as well be the plane's version of hedrons.
And Vivien being the apparent focus of Ikoria is... ughh. Vivien herself as a character is fine, but she got introduced in M19 and already has four cards and has been all over the place in the MtG Arena ads, nevermind the fact that we just got Eldraine that had two Green Planeswalkers being the main focus. Never thought I would ever say this, but... I kinda miss Jace.
Personally, I like the look of those monsters, particularly, actually, the smaller herd creatures, but the big one too. They look cool. I like cool looking monsters. What can I say. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i'm just curious to see how much they learned from rise of the eldrazi. that is to say if we're making giant monsters the format just turns into whoever can resolve and push their fatty through first, and that gets stagnant quick.

I can’t wait to see what the other behemoths/kaijus look like I’m fairly certain each one will look different from that one

Green is going to get even better I guess, they can ramp so fast that by turn 6 you will have 10-11 mana creatures in the board, meanwhile white is going to get the end of the shaft as always

Didn't the "green is OP" bubble already bursted with Theros?

I get a Alara(Naya)+Zendikar+Lorwyn vibe from the art.
Also i got a vibe of really good small creatures, that can get bigger like Kavu Titan or Tarmo/SOoze.
Hope this set is a hit but we will probably get alot more green overpowered stuff... Wizards need to slow down on green and maybe give some love to white and red.
It Does give me a “Dark Crystal” vibe in that all its creatures may be sci-fi/fantasy and not actually have earth counterparts.
I’m not really feeling Viven as the face of anything and the plane so far doesn’t look all that appealing. More information will help me decide but I’m traditionally a harsher critic of any set that follows Theros, so I’ll admit to that bias. I generally dislike leaving Theros for anything

Yeah like New Phyrexia or Innistrad gave black OP stuff.... oh wait.

Well this thing looks different than that since it has more of a bat face than a tarrasque face
Anyway I think they are more aiming for references of the most famous monsters from Godzilla since they are about that size
I... didn't say the monster in that image was a tarrasque. I said there should be one in the set. And besides, it doesn't look like a D&D tarrasque but, the real world mythological one is more of a chimeric creature.
Vivien Reed is an interesting choice, mostly because she has no primary motivation anymore. Nicol Bolas been thoroughly defeated, her world is dead, which really leaves only two facets of her left. The eco-terrorist personality from short stories and also the Steve Irwin personality she has from various flavor texts.

Ideally, we'll see the latter, so I can at least attempt to feel anything but nausea when she's in a set. A land creature enthusiast (comparable to Kiora and sea beasts) was interesting, since Nissa is more about land, leylines and Worldsouls. Perhaps Ikoria will be a plane she's been familiar with and had used to amass a sizable army before. It could be where her magic works best, like Lilliana and Innistrad, etc.
That seems like Vivien to me

Yea that’s got to Vivian with the bow this must be her new home plane after bolas destroyed her previous one
And minor detail the minor green creature just behind this kaiju it’s running like a dinosaur plus the green bird resembles a Archaeopteryx
So I say dinosaurs will be a theme on it

If such gigantic beasts wander around they trample all and every forest and little hill to trash.

I hope we get stupidly expensive bombs and lots of them.

Well the sets a double dip it’s not only a set it’s commander 2020 with the 5 decks it comes with
So we need the even bigger bombs in thoses
RUNIN: Norse mythology set (awaiting further playtesting)
FATE of ALARA: Multicolour factions (currently on hiatus)
Contibutor to the Pyrulea community set
I'm here to tell you that all your set mechanics are bad

The scale of the monster with Vivien looks right, and I think everyone is going up the mountain, which would explain the perspective.
Atleast the monsters won’t have annihilator
