Why, though? I'm not necessarily a big monster fan, but than there's some beautiful Vivien artwork, so that's nice.
What is it that you look for in a plane? Does it have to be heavily ancient Greece inspired?
To me, I hope to see elves, angels, vampires, fairies, dryads, vedalken and/or kor. That might be why I love Ravnica so much. Do we have a breakdown of species on Ikoria yet?
weird beasts instead of boring humans on the boosters... well so far i'm loving it!

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
So far it looks like "Ikoria: We're out of Ideas, so here's a Placeholder Set!"
Which is understandable every once in a while but it comes hard on the heels of "Theros: We Didn't like our First Ideas, but we Shipped Anyway", which came right after "Ravnica: The Story Diverged from Play Design, but You Knew How It Would End Anyway", the third expansion in the "Ravnica: Why are We Here Again, Oh Yeah, Bolas has been Kicking Around For A Decade And We Kinda Forgot What To Do With Him" blocks.
A company generally uses excellent product to distract during a transition to a higher concentration on its RoI. It looks like they're missing half of that formula...
I'm vibin' hard with the Lemur Kaiju on the bottom right.
It's harder to make out but far from impossible but the monster at the bottom middle is a giant ape. King Kong!
Confirms it as the giant monster set. Since King Kong is the second half of the two big name kaiju next to Godzilla. Despite King Kong not actually being a Japanese creation.
Not only I want a moth kaiju I want a spider kaiju as well and make it legendary and jund and spider tribal so you have all of them actually atleast one insect behemoth/kaiju would be great
In part. But I also don’t like that it appears to be a plane of essentially Simic creations. I prefer more recognizable creatures. I also can’t stand Viven Reid. Let alone my harsher analysis of sets that follow Theros.
It’s a good thing though. Not every set is for everyone and I’m looking forward to Zendikar and Commander products instead. So it’s not wallet fatigue for me.

Fairly sure the creature on the Vivien close-up booster art is an Asiatic dragon. And I highly doubt there isn't going to be plenty more recognizable creatures; probably just going to be a few more random beasties than usual.

Simic creatures are amphibious like as you can see this is not a water plane and the Ikoria creatures don’t look amphibious
I see is
Dragons
Beast
Ape/monkeys
And possibly dinosaurs
Well, still not sold on the set, but at least we get some more varied monster designs instead of just Huge Baloth Wannabe. King Kong is always sweet and pretty much confirms the Kaiju set suspicions, Spiky Lemur Monster is pretty nice and that Kirin/dragon thing accompanying Vivien seems aight. REALLY not liking the gratuitous number of spikes and horns being thrown around, but we'll see.
Also, worth noting: The weird monster in the Collector Booster seems to be the same big monster from the Booster Box art, even though the foiling and the very stylized artstyle makes it hard to notice at a first glance. Not only that makes it very likely he's a Legendary, but it also hints on the fact that maybe that cartoonish, comic book style is what they're going with for the Showcase Cards.

Pretty sure he means Simic in the sense that it's two or three things plastered together, not necessarily just amphibious stuff.
I for one don't really like what I'm seeing so far since it kinda looks like Zendikar without Eldrazi, but I love the idea of a kaiju set.
This is actually how I was expecting Zendikar without Eldrazi to look like. It's the "Adventure plane" and this looks like Vivien going off on an adventure. I'm wondering what's in store for the actual new Zendikar set then.
Bruh you've seen like 5 pieces of art from it so far
I mean no one's stopping you from formulating your own premature opinions with extremely limited information but that's not really a great habit to get into
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Since that collector’s booster has mountains on its back, it is at least a 10/10. I want to say with 100% certainty that the big creature set is when they make a 20/20 aside from a Marit Lage token, but the biggest Eldrazi was only 15/15 and they were supposed to be Cthulhu-level.
Thus it is possible this creature could go up to a base p/t of 17, however, if they are going for big, it should be a modified Beast of Burden looking at all permanents instead of just creatures on the entire battlefield.
Suppose this could be Hamletback Goliath’s pet “dog” that grew up as the giant did.

Oh we’re definatly getting a few 10/10 to maybe even 20/20s in the set they are basicly a secondary eldrazi sized creatures that are also actually colored
And yea are bear face kaiju on the collectors booster does look comic book style so that’s probably are showcase art like your suggesting
Also just like lots of sets do they prep up for ones in the future for this case
I don't know about you, but I think Tiro has a bad case of the grumpies
If this is a kaiju set then expect me to relive the moments of early Power Rangers episodes:
"Magic wand, make my monster....GROOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!1111"
And to be honest the beast on the original art reminds me of a giant baloth about to stomp on Vivien.
Maybe this will be Onslaught II in terms of delivery. WHO KNOWS?!

That's kinda every set until we are back in New Phyrexia, which hopefully won't take over 2 years

Dude. I’m pretty sure a kaiju focused set is not a placeholder set idea
I spotted a ape so we’re getting a legendary based on King Kong easily
Balony you say negative about every single set that isn’t theros
There’s a ape so we’re getting a King Kong based behemoth
By the way I don’t see a source for these images
Not only I want a moth kaiju I want a spider kaiju as well and make it legendary and jund and spider tribal so you have all of them actually atleast one insect behemoth/kaiju would be great
