damn these people. none of the bans actually matter to me, but they just keep banning and banning. remember when they used to UNBAN stuff? the most common thing used to be to ease the sting by giving something back, now they just take.

in all honesty, these are bans on cards that should never have existed in the first place. expect to continue to see this. this is the new business model: print busted cards to simulate sales and ban when it's time.

And this is why I'm glad Wizards doesn't control Commander.

Indeeed heck they even doing it right too
The gave leovold a chance but failed since they even mentioned he can even win without even trying to get the pieces
Paradox engine got a chance but failed (not only due to game ending it’s because it takes so dang long to finish combos)
They took a gamble of unbanning protean hulk and they may have won people are being more careful And they knew there was far more creature/graveyard control than before and Sheldon still proud of the decision to unban it to this day and it is infact not as broken as it uset to be to meta today
Painters savant and Iona switching places was a good move mono colored decks are rising higher in popularity and Iona shuts down a single player potentially rather than everybody
And I wouldn’t be surprised if they are keeping an eye on nuxbloom ancient make sure if it’s bannable or not
I am not really sure how I feel about the banning of Goros in Brawl. On one hand, I did play it my Niv-Mizzet deck and it was one of the matchups that felt reasonabely even while having a large variance in the deck list. On the flip side, he is basically THE good stuff guy in Brawl and I can understand wizard not wanting good stuff around as an archtype.

I don't mind the current ban list for edh. But as someone who plays regular and competitive edh, I would like to see cedh given a bit of thought. Cards like Thassa's Oracle get printed and it wrecks the top end of the meta, but because it doesn't affect the rest nobody who manages the bans cares.
Veil of Summer again taking an undeserved ban over cards that are far more damaging to the game. Can't ban Teferi, can't ban narset, but Veil is breaking the game enough to deserve a ban!

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.
"Entitled:" the entire ad hominem fallacy condensed into a single word. It doesn't strengthen your argument to attack motivations, it just makes you look like you don't understand the argument.

rc stated multiple times that the banlist is just a suggestion, baseline for how the format should look like. so banning something that is problematic to a small fraction of the meta is less probable. also i think giving more time to the meta to adjust is not a bad thing. to that point i think breach could stay a bit longer to see how meta develops. banning cards so quickly opens the way for lazy r&d and puts more financial burden on the players due to rapid meta changes.

I thought that's what cedh was all about? Winning on turn 3 with combos and a lot of shuffling for the next game. I imagine nobody would complain about cards like Thassa's Oracle because that's what cedh players want. To win. Fast.
