but it was a card specific discount via ebay that may have been spurred by WotC even as they knew they would be pushing back the release date.

it'll be weird playing with them in digital form for ages before they are released physically. I wonder whether this will have an impact on singles prices on the secondary market, since we'll actually have a decent amount of time to figure out what is good through practice rather than theory. This is a neat experiment imo, and potentially fuel to the "digital only soon" conspirators.

Latest proof this forum is a trashfire:
Your authoritarianism will be the reason the company suffers another 60M in losses.
They (the online retailer) is sitting on my money right now it was a pre-purchase. I haven't cancelled yet but more than likely will in the next few days. I am trying to support this LGS/online seller through my purchase but when WotC pushes release date back 3 weeks its hard for me to do so. Yes it is a tiny blip in the big scheme of things, but it was a card specific discount via ebay that may have been spurred by WotC even as they knew they would be pushing back the release date. I am not angry just highly disappointed. The thing is a refund will HURT this LGS/online retailer if I cancel my order. And we are ALL dealing with a Pandemic, don't throw that one in my face you have ZERO idea how myself and my family are affected by it.
Yeah but what is the other option? Cancel it and order it again without the discount after may?
A similar thing happened to me. I know for sure that the store i ordered from didn't receive any "seed" by wotc or isn't doing any scam because they are just a couple of young friends trying to start a project they like. They were as surprised as anyone else when this thing happened and even offered me a refund.
I don't care about getting my money. I decided to spend them for cards so i'll have my cards. If i have to wait a month, so be it.
I know that your situation may not be the same as mine, but i just wanted to share my viewpoint with you.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

I honestly don't get what he thinks he'd be accomplishing, apart from spiting the company he claims to want to support because... they're in cahoots with WotC and the pandemic to take the money he would spend anyways? Canceling the order doesn't provide any benefit if he actually wants the cards. And clearly we have no idea what kind of situation his family is in, where he can afford to buy two boxes of fancy cardboard while the economy tanks for everyone else.

I don't want to judge anyone. I just want to say that many LSG and sellers got hit by this new as hard as the players, maybe even harder.
Here in Italy they were doing discounts because they were scared by the situation, not because of "scams".
