The tap clause is a nice way for your opponent to react and not get blown out by whatever evasive creature this is bound to land on. I feel the cat art is better than the....caterpillar?
The reason it taps the enchanted creature is probably because the Standard-legal Storm Herald would abuse it otherwise. (That thing also already abuses Eldrazi Conscription in Modern FWIW.)

I disagree. I like the caterpillar one much better. That creepy sausage is much more menacing than fluffy kitty of any size.

Leave it to a mere goat to stop a giant marauding kitten on 'roids. Who's the baaaaaaadddd ass now?
Evershrike and Academy Researchers love this, as do Sovereigns of Lost Alara and Bruna, Light of Alabaster. Calix does to some extent, but even building up to Calix's ultimate seems quite slow.
I guess you'll have to ramp into it otherwise. Pretty easy to do in standard with devotion-based mana sources. We'll see. Huge board slammer in limited though.

Seriously, though, this was inevitable. First we had Eldrazi Conscription, then we got the enchantment that gave +7/+7.

Mythic Proportions was back in Onslaught, so giving +7/+7 wasn't all that special.
Colossification "That's Cute"
Claim the Firstborn might be a good way to remedy the issue
I hereby dub the deck "Herald's Claim"!
As it is written, so let it be done!
I like the caterpillar, it reminds me of this:
Watch Sheldon ban this one latter (but I, not sure)
You just attach it to any commander you have a one hit wonder and a reminder cards like
Exist so you can attack when attached
You forgot about something
