•Destroy target creature with no counters on it.
•Remove up to three counters from target creature. It's us or them.

that is exceptional! one of those cards tat may not be great in Standard, but is absolutely premium removal for other formats, it's going to kill almost everything in Modern

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Sadly, I'm pretty sure based on Weaponize The Monsters he only gets to his tiger friend too late. Though, I'm rather glad the scope of our story is man meets cat, man looses cat, man topples plane rather than step 3 being man goes and gets the Guild Pact and the whole pantheon of walkers comes in and lends a redundant hand.
What I want to understand at this point is why does the trailer show Vivien helping the humans when it seems very much like Lukka and Vivien are united (at least at some point in the story) on bringing a new world order to this plane. (New Plane Order?)

My best guess is that happened before Lukkas cat died
Also it resembled a evil creature rather than a good one
Pioneer has picked up a near premier removal spell. Fatal Push is #1 but I think this bumps out Cast Down. Mono G and RG Stompy lists aren't going to be hit hard, but near everything else will.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
This is exceptional removal against the vast majority of creatures, and in corner cases you might even use it to weaken a creature. Though It'll be rare times that the second mode is more useful than the first, but that mode is a neat value add that doesn't take anything away from the card.

That's reasonable. Gives us a nice multi-act set-up.
I can definitely see this becoming an easy include in commander. It's conditional removal, but like Go for the Throat it will pretty much always have a target.
aaaaaand we veer hard into Eco-Terrorism. Man, way to make a superfan lose interest with a hackneyed plot.
Why? This is a fairly well-worn trope for sure (civilized person develops empathy for the "monster", betrays society to side with the "monsters", realizes the society they betrayed is the real "monster"), but what's the harm in an MtG spin on it?
The book tells a little bit different story than it might seem from the cards. Just saying.
Indeed, which is frustrating given the very different character motivations/arcs depending on what your sources are. Who's the hero? Who's the villain? Why is anybody doing the things they're doing? You'll get different answers depending on if someone read the book or just the cards and I don't think that's a success.

Unfortunately seems par for the course for the past couple years. The GRN/RNA stories (which, oddly, were marketed only as "WAR prequel stories" and released months after the applicable sets) diverged from the flavor text on the GRN/RNA cards quite a bit.
MTG plot has always been stupid. The "good" stories are the stupid ones that are also hilarious, like Emrakul making everyone turn her name into a pronoun and getting so fed up with the gatewatch that she gets herself sealed in the moon and away from those idiots. Or the one where Sarkhan makes Tarkir even worse and makes his own existence impossible while he casually exists.

This card though, stupid good is more like it.
Those are both fairly recent stories. Old magic stories (like, Brother's War through Invasion) were pretty sweet, if I recall.

As a trusted loresage; is the book worth my time and money?
I think it is. It is not a bad read, though Eldraine was better in my eyes a bit.
My comment here was that whereas the cards seem to line up in a relatively simple and clichéd story, like :
- Lukka is a copper(coat) trained to fight monsters
- Lukka the good guy sees a flying cat and finds friendship/ability to bond
- Lukka is evicted because bonding is a crime in Drannith
- Lukka the good guy flees and is helped by Vivien
- things happen
- somehow Kudro the villain gets to catch and execute Lukka's cat
- Lukka the good guy weaponizes the monsters in righteous revenge for Kudro killing his cat-friend for life
- revenge (probably) happens...
In fact, the book tells a more complicated story, where the characters are far less black and white, and, for exanple
- Lukka's bond with the tiger does not even have time to fully develop, he accepts the bond as something that happened half-unintentionally, and does not even get to NAME the cat before it ends up in Drannith and Kudro kills it - all these pathetic words about "friends" in the flavors are just funny when you compare it with the book...
Statements like this are stupid. Some of the old books were real gems, Kamigawa trilogy or first Ravnica book were also good. Children of the Nameless was good, etc...

My favorite thing about MTG Salvation is the "Ignore User" feature.

Yeah, it's only "my opinion". And I have virtually nothing to support it with, except for the fact that I have read 95% of everything that was ever published on Magic lore since the 90's, and dozens of dozens of other, non-Magic books.
How many of that have *you* read, pal?
And when we are on it...care to elaborate *why* my opinion is wrong? Thanks

That's most Toho kaiju movies, the rest being monsters beating up monsters on a city landscape.
The entire godzilla mythos was originally an allegory for the horrors of nuclear war inflicted on Japan.

For completely unrelated reasons Vivien works with Bonders to DEFEND Drannith.
