What's with that Joker esque smile in the alternate art? I don't think we've ever seen Jace smile in card art before; does he smile like that in the books?
This is honestly such a cool design. It also plays very interestingly with itself. Do you cast him on curve for mild to moderate value, or do you wait until turn 5 to kick him and get two Jaces?
Or you could just use your turn 3 to cast Uro and kick Jace on turn 4 anyway
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Outside of Jace and his Stand ANOTHER JACE, we have exploring-a-cave Jace, being-chased-by-scaly-beasts Jace, walking Jace, looking-over-a-cliff Jace, and superhero landing Jace.
now where's Tiro
Ugh, now that you mention that, I'm almost disappointed that he's not making a JoJo pose. Oh well, I'm still calling him Stand Jace.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.
Step 1: Cast a kicked version of Jace
Step 2: Original Jace ETB.
Step 3: Doubling Season triggers to give Original Jace 8 loyalty instead of 4 base loyalty.
Step 4: Jace's ETB trigger goes off.
Step 5: Create a nonlegendary token of Jace with 1 loyalty.
Step 6: Doubling Season makes a copy of the token and gives each effectively a base loyalty of 2.
Step 7: Activate DS token's +1 to Scry 2. From there you flow chart to see if you need to Scry again with the original token to setup the original Jace OR just activate original Jace followed by the the original token. Or if in worst case scenario, activate all three Jace's to Scry 2 three times.
Step 8: Profit from having 16-18 loyalty from a single casting of a basically 5-mana planeswalker who effectively can activate their abilities 3 times a turn and is spread across 3 bodies.
This card sucks imo. It just has way too little affect on the board. The +1 is way too low impact, and the draw a card ability although fine is not enough to save this.
I feel like the opponent will be able to ignore this most of the time. Most planeswalkers you can't just ignore because they are netting too big an advantage or working towards an ultimate that is unbeatable. This really isn't doing either of those things, Sure they might net a few cards, but it's not posing any real threat, while the card advantage is real slow. I just can't envision where you are able to tap out on turn 3 for such a low impact card, and while the kicker is something it doesn't really change the flaws of the card.
It kind off bothers me that the MIRROR image is not an actual mirror of him.
It has a hoodie on and looks different.
Hows that a good Illusion at all, its terrible.
My impression is that the illusion is just beginning to form/take shape, as he is literally entering the battle and conjuring his illusion (kicking the spell). Think of it as a snapshot of when Jace first appears and casts the illusion
Hi everyone.
This is my first post in this forum.
I am spanish, so English is not my first language... so... excuse me you all if you can't understand me at all... :3
I've a doubt about this card, and searching it in google there is nowhere I could find the answer...
Well: so, you're using one of the mages (the real one for example), and you scry 2 and it was first a land and some creature for the second card. You decide to leave as it is. With the draw hability you can draw a card paying the converted mana cost in Jace loyalty counters. Ok... but... it is a land... so... will it cost cero loyalty to draw it ?
I don't know if i am too lame at this game or I am missing something... I hope I'm not saying some sillyness that everyone knows already...
Thank you all...

Yes, you are correct, Jace will lose no loyalty if you reveal a land.

Jace can help buff Bioessence Hydra with the loyalty count.
Add an Oath of Teferi in the mix for Jace.
