Just to add, the name of Tatyova 2.0 there roughly translates to "Aesi, the World Serpent." With the Nordic-looking settlement in the foreground, this might be a future reference to Kaldheim.
You're all going to need to step 1500 miles away from me immediately, because the sight of those sea monsters is about to make me nuclear and none will survive.
I don't give a motha fawk about a triple post that Kraken of the Abyss is the perfect name for a sea monster and I absolutely ADORE the bioluminescence effect on a sea monster FINALLY which I have been longing to see. I love the art on it damn it, don't even care about its effect, what a perfect depiction of what I want my deck to represent. I adore this freaking card. Can you imagine returning Nykthos or Cradle after combat and replay it with the legendary serpent, or exploration, explore etc out and then get even more mana in main phase 2 to drop more massive Thassa babies? Freaking sign me the hell up and back sis
It looks like they're finally lumping in all the supplemental products into the main set "count". Compare Anowon, the Ruin Thief to Wyleth. That explains why the Mana Confluence is #721.
Wow, they really don't know how to make playable sea monsters.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I was pretty excites about Aesi until I read the effect. Slightly tweaked Tatyova? Do thing, draw card? Come on Wizards, you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. It's a shame because I like the card creative-wise… (it's CosmoSerpent!)
Tatyova is a super pushed mistake card in colours that did not need it. So, let's print a much better version.

Both new commander are boring. Not bad just boring. The UG one is just a new version of Tatyova, Benthic Druid. The WR one would be better if you could draw a card when casting an Aura or equipment card. Making this effect depended on attacking make this so similar to Akiri, Fearless Voyager which was released in latest set. But well you want both in the same deck I think.
On the bright side they are the same prices as the zendikar ones (35 for both 20 for one)
funny enough it wouldn't shock me if you melded the simic deck and the naya one from zendikar you just created a omnath, locus of creation as if he’s a precon (ofcoarse you need to switch about a 3rd of the lands for temur Color land staples)
Tatyova already exists and that new guy is marginally different. Any deck that wants one also wants the other because theyre basically the same card. To me that limits brewing options instead of expanding them.
The r/w guy is... okay, its still just redzone. The draw is nice but i dont think its necessarily what the color pair needed. It still needs its portion of the color pie expanded a little more meaningfully since its so far behind almost every other pairing.
Yup, both pretty boring. Wyleth at least is a nice option for Voltron shenanigans for the color combo but as mentioned above he would be much more exciting if we literally didn't just get Akiri.
As for the other cards... the Kraken is a nice tool for Landfall decks and the White aura will be Sram's BFF but other than that they are also pretty lukewarm.
I don't mind WotC toning down the power level of Commander precons - I don't want every Commander related product to be packed with Fierce Guardianships - but those are just... meh. Hopefully the reprints will make up for it.
These are also meant to replace the PW intro decks so seems about right power-level wise.

It's not power-level the problem it's just incredibly boring. They could have tried making simic sea monster tribal or something new like that instead it's just bland ***** we have already seen.

If a decks wants Tatyova, Benthic Druid, it probably wants this too.
Cant ever have enough broken UG cards, as the core of ramping and drawing cards is just never bad.
Especially in casual commander, nobody attacks "lands" so its the safest form of ramping.
In competitive variations, anything 5+ mana needs to basically win the game on the spot, this does not.
