Brinelin is interesting in that it's so much better in Limited than in Constructed, and I hope this stays that way. In Limited, it's good in slower control decks, and maybe green-blue (do we get to draft sea monsters?). In Constructed, it's only good for the latter, or any random high-CMC blue decks that exist somewhere. Nice way to do sea monster tribal without the explicit support of the litany of creature types.
Mnemonic Deluge is obviously for all those spellslinger decks. Point it at a spell that duplicates other spells or something. You can also steal your opponent's Expropriate if you're still alive after that turn cycle.
Entomb expropriate, mnemonic deluge expropriate, never have friends again.
The rest dont do much for me. A lot of over priced junk. I suppose theyre okay for timmys first edh deck, but then he'll figure out how efficiency works and cut all of them.
Brinelin, the Moon Kraken lived off the coast of Akoum on Zendikar. He had a friendship with the leader of the Tajuru elves, Speaker Sutina, and also nearly killed Nissa, Sorin, and Anowon when their ship passes through his territory during In The Teeth of Akoum.
This isn't the mothership spoilers, thread should be renamed since these are from Forbes.

Yes, indeed. But then Nissa managed to negotiate with him and he helped them reach Akoum safely, out of respect of Sutina who died before.
We were wondering whether they did not use Wrexial, a legendary kraken from the set, back then...
Also, this:
Based on its friendship with Sutina, Brinelin was an earlier itineration of Lorthos, the Tidemaker. Apparently that was his original name in development, and it was changed for the final set, but the author didn’t get the memo in time.

That Kraken makes me wish they did different foiling processes than they do - it would look amazing if the only foil parts of that card were the moon and the moonlight reflecting off surfaces.
I'm confused as to why you'd copy Twincast or any other copy spell with Deluge? Deluge is a sorcery.
You copy a copy of Twincast in your graveyard to produce additional copies of something like Time Stretch because you can choose which order they resolve in.
Cards like Mnemonic Deluge are always fun to just "win" the game with something huge.
But making it sorcery instead of instant is just awful ... would be way more hilarious as an instant to just snatch a win from someone else that resolves a huge spell.
OMFTHASSA BRINELIN! YES!! This was one of the characters in my requests!!! In addition to ARIXMETHES two years ago, this year I have gotten:
A SECOND THASSA
CALLAPHE
AND BRINELIN!
AWWW YISSSS! SO MANY of my precious favorite characters to add to my thematic deck AND I LOVE IT
Look at the incredible Adam Paquette art on this card - seriously this is as phenomenally thematic as it gets. He has painted some of my favorite sea monsters from Theros as well, just brilliant. Everything about this card has come together PERFECTLY and I am notoriously difficult to please, no less. I just love the art, name, theme, and the fact I have more Legendary sea monsters to add to my favorite deck.
JUST BLOODY BRILLIANT
Brinelin, the Moon Kraken, welcome to a permanent slot in my deck. Finally they made him to play alongside Lorthos. I guess Zendikar still has its fair share of cool sea monsters to love. Such an amazing piece of art for a character I have been wanting for years. I must say, this deck is in a really great place. All it's really missing is Olantin as a land now.
I LOVE IT

I guess I still don't get it. Are you saying you can hold the copies beyond the resolution of Deluge? That doesn't seem right.

Nope, I'm just dumb. For some reason I read this as "exile three cards from your graveyard, cast copies of those cards". Pretty sure this does fail the way you think it does.

Although I knew Brinelin was an early iteration of Lorthos and would possibly end up being the same character, I am really glad he ended up being distinct. Also, isn't Lorthos typically around Murasa while Brinelin in was Akoum, near the crystal reefs? Very different continents so it makes sense he is his own entity.

I wish the Theros gods had the cosmic Pokemon foiling from the OG cards. God I loved that. Or Secret Rare from Yugioh.

Oh. I was starting to think I was missing something really cool.

Sorry, that was my fault for not processing that the cards are exiled from the gy first
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
