So by saving 2 mana and being colourless you get no trample, -6/-6 on the creature, tokens get -2/-2 each and it doesn't shuffle back into your libary, no it exiles it self to get one more trigger out of it.

dont' forget it doesn't have any sort of evasion and artifacts are one of the most easily hated on types in the format. yeah sure you can cheat it out easily enough, but you can do that with any fatty. i foresee a lot of games where someone drops this and is all smug about it, only to not be able to do anything with it as it eats a nature's claim and no one really cares about the 3/3's, or it just gets chumped all day and doesn't die, or i guess they can pay 9 mana to sac it to something else? it just... its okay, but mythic? that's a big no.
Y'all hating on this realize that the encore ability will leave you with three 3/3 golems per opponent after hitting them each with a 9/9, right? Yeah, I know, wraths exist, but still. Think about what you can do with this and all the enter battlefield triggers, bodies, sacrifice and death triggers it can get you.
For 1 more mana, you get a total of 18 power instead of 26 that is more clumped up and easier to block.
When you cast it back from the graveyard, you pay 2 more mana but get 27 power of creatures plus attacking each opponent with a 9/9... which is still easier to chump due to the lower number of bodies.
Considering that Army (Which makes better sacrifice fodder and does better with mass pumps due to the larger number of creatures) isn’t a big card in EDH, this probably won’t make a big splash.
I run OG Purphoros, and it was the first deck I thought of for this. 9 and then 12 more is rough, but talk about a game-ender. 1 trigger when you play it, 3 triggers when it dies, another 3 triggers when you unearthembalm or rather encore it, followed by 9 more triggers at end of turn. In addition to the 72 power and toughness, that's 32 damage off the ETBs. Too bad it's so expensive.
But New Purphoros and Feldon can both work around that issue one way or another... especially together.
1. Would not play this in limited. Probably why it is Mythic as you don't want a common or uncommon to be unplayable in limited.
2. Can only be played in monocolor commander decks that will cheat this into play. Assuming anything that is 2+ colors will have better options than a bunch of vanillas.
3. Would be really cool if it was less expensive. Like, a 3/3 for 3 that makes one token when it dies and Encores for 6 mana. Would especially be cool for precursor golem decks.
I'm glad they are making cards like these to appeal Timmies instead of cEDH players.
This card is what EDH is about. Good but not stellar power level, lot of sinergies, potential to do really crazy things: saheeli's artistry+Brudiclad, anyone?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

that green splicer legendary, we might see more (non-legendary) for a golem sub-theme.
Golems are often the default artifact creature so I think there is likely a lot of nifty combos with splicer. I remember New Phyrexia had some creative decks, though they where not singleton.

That golem looks way too clean to be from Phyrexia…
Sadly its very obvious that they made some random art first, then put cards on the art, or just picked some random art for some cards.
Thats true for a lot of cards in the set, which is sad and shows how little they cared for the products polish.

They should care more, even if a set has no story connected to it, the art should reflect what the card actually does, including its size, theme and setting.

A fair comparison, but I don't think it entirely holds up. Triniform is an artifact and a creature, permanent types that are much easier to cheat into play and easier to reanimate. As already mentioned, Triniform is playable in decks without black, in particular decks that can drop it into play early or (along with black) bring it in and out of the yard without needing 12 mana for encore.
I am not saying this card is going to be a top EDH card or anything, but I think it has a lot of power and will be a reasonable option for plenty of decks.
It’s like a really bad Wurmcoil Engine. I guess they needed a colorless member of the 9 mana mythic cycle? If you’re living in some crazy dream world you can Lithoform Engine the Encore for some decent value but by then you should have already won.
I think this is referencing the golem from Titan Forge and then added in the "Phyrexians spit out 3/3 golems" thing that also took place from New Phyrexia.
Encore is the unholy combination of myriad and unearth, as the Phyrexians show here.

edh can do so much better than this already without this card.
i might throw it into feldon, maybe, its a fatty that *****s out tokens and thats what that deck wants.
i don't know, it really seems like they can't quite grasp the format.

As if Worldspine Wurm even saw play in edh....
"Earth!" shouts Nissa
"Fire!" shouts Chandra
"Wind!" shouts Jace
"Water!" shouts Kiora
"Heart!" shouts Gideon
"Go Multiverse!" shouts everyone combined
"By your powers combined, I am Captain Multiverse!" shouts Captain Multiverse
Now Purphoros, that is.

Feldon of the Third Path and Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded really like this.

Cast for Encore at 12
Get 3 9/9s attacking each of your 3 opponents
At end of turn you have 9 3/3s left behind
Seems pretty good.
